narboroughblue Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Maybe we want Schlupp to put a transfer request in to save us paying him any bonuses or unpaid wages that would forgo. Doubt the rumours of his wages are true but it does seem we are trying to reduce the wage bill to compensate for the increased contracts handed out elsewhere. Would rather keep Schlupp but £12m seems a decent deal for both parties.

I think it's a bit precious to slag him for these comments - Wenger was much worse and there have been other questionable remarks about our club and players too
st albans fox Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Does Jeff have to stay re the four home grown players in the CL squad? with Liam going, we would need two development squad players involved if we sold Jeff (King, chilwell, Jeff + 1) ?

Due to his age I think he'd be part of our 'B' squad, along with all the other 'Under-21s'.. At present, as I understand the UEFA rules, we'll have to run with an 'A' squad of 23 players. We have 4 spaces for players over 21 who have come through the club's system. With Liam going I think that only leaves us with Jeff & AK who meet the criteria, therefore we have to leave two of the 25 places unfilled. If Jeff were to leave, then our 'A' squad would be limited to 22, (though we can call on as many 'under- 21s as we like!! Sadly, not as many under 21's as we want...as many under-21's that have been with the club for two years. UEFA squad rules mean Gray and Kapustka have to go on the 'A' squad. As would our number 1 U21 GK, if we wanted to put three GK on the squad. We currently have 1 spot open on the 'A' list for Europe. But we have 5 spots open for the PL squad list.
MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Claudio just said Jeff is injured, out for maybe a month.

Sharpe's Fox Posted 22 August 2016 Posted 22 August 2016 West Brom have signed Brendan Galloway from Everton on loan. Seems like they've given up on Jeff.

Wymsey Posted 22 August 2016 Posted 22 August 2016 His development here is not bad and is learning with a league-winning side. If he goes to yo-yo club like WBA, he may well be 1st choice but may not reach his potential there.

He's bigging him up cos he's desperate and may walk if he doesn't get 5 new players in. The new owners wont release funds untill they own the club and 12% of the shares are owned by share holders who are trying to block Peace selling the club. Or something like that.
