Saturday's game would be perfect for him, against pacey wingers and fast counter-attacking play.

Totally agree, could have seen him coming on yesterday with his direct running and physical presence (that people often forget is a big part of what he "brings"). He's actually been pretty impactful when coming on as a sub this preseason and Marc hasn't been impressive so far. Hope we keep him.

Everybody saying don't sell including me but the point people are missing is the lad wants to be starting every week. Id love him to stay but don't think it's going to happen.

Every footballer wants to start every week and play every game but they have to earn their place in the squad and he`s not done that in my opinion. Good luck to him.

Be gutted when he goes....but I understand he just wants to play which in modern footballer terms is quite admirable imo

I want him to stay, he should stay...

He gives us that turn of speed, he has saved us matches, he has won us matches...

He might want 1st team football, but I am sure Ranieri could make a compromise,

with Schlupp within the PL, and CL games, giving him some starters, because like it

or not Ranieri will be needing to tinker, its the nature of being a PL title winner.

Gray and Zap, will have also their chances, but neither will become yet, established

1st choice. We need to keep in mind , the importance of the squad, days of gone

of a top 12-14.         BBone of players doesnt mean 1st choice neither.

Chilwell, Gray, Zapi, Armatey stars will rise, plus I see Shinji, Ulloa, and if he stays Schlupp,

going that step further.

At least if he goes we will be in profit on our transfer dealings this window which I suspect this is what the owners want.

With the Prem money coming in I doubt they are worried about staying above the line in that department.

Why would they want this? I would have thought their primary aim is to have another successful year of sorts?

Their primary aim is to make money. Obviously success will help them do this.

I'd of disagreed with this completely before the last 3 or 4 weeks but we've not spent much at all with the money back in from Kante, but let's wait until the end of the transfer window and they'll be a clearer idea then.

oh and they are still fantastic owners, what they've done for our club already is amazing!

I think their primary aim is to build the club slowly as they have already stated and that is what they are doing...  its fairly clear they are not short circuiting that because of our success last year ...   the targets (players) they have gone for are still the ones they would have gone for whether we had finished 10th or top.   A good policy and the right thing to do imo.

Nice trolling. You got a few replies there.

Schlupp is a lot better than some on here give him credit for. All he needs is one to one Coaching to bring that talent to the fore. He was sadly missed on Saturday against Hull.

A few weeks ago I would have agreed.

However it does look like we intend to make a profit every summer on transfers, I don't really see how anyone can argue that anymore given we keep doing it.

He is under contract.  The Club is bigger than him and we will need him. He should be told he must stay and knuckle down.. If he is replaced with Brady, then we have a serious recruitment problem.

Are we really gonna need him?

He's a car crash of a left back Fuchs and Chillwell both much more reliable, and we've got four wingers all ahead of him, not to mention a striker who can play his position if needed. So surplus to requirements it's untrue and 12 million is good value for someone who hasn't never held a place down here for any length of time in any position.

One thing I will agree with you on is that Brady is not the answer should we get that extra cash in.

Problem is, thats what we're going to have to tell his replacement. Not a very attracting way of having to recruit someone.

Not necessarily, £12 extra million in the coffers,  remembering we've spent next to nothing as well, we should be looking to land one or two big players who can actually compete for a place.

Just seems like panic for panicing sake in here.

When was the last time we made a profit?

Last financial year.

No we didn't. You do realise the comment was about transfer dealings, not company profit?

They didn't need to when they were about to make 45 million selling Kante and Schulpp.

I don't think the 12 million is really significant though.

the club is the richest it's ever been, the owners are billionaires, plus Cl money plus biggest ever prem money.

plus Kante money.

extra squad depth needed for extra games this doesn't make sense

Only makes sense if we're going to bring in a worldy or if Jeff wants to go badly enough.
