I'd be quite happy to have Albrighton & Musa fight it out and Gray & Kapustka challenging them as up and coming young players. IMO there are only three types of players we should be signing: a) Players who get into the first team b) Up and coming young players who are expected to force their way in at some point like Chilwell, Gray, Amartey, Kapustka, etc. c) Squad fillers who offer decent cover but are free or cheap like Hernandez, King, Zieler, etc. Signing squad players who are mid to late 20's for eight figure sums will eventually get you relegated. Musa is a striker
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 I'm just starting to get a little concerned about the amount of unsettling the squad has gone through over the summer. A lot of people linked with moves away, a few demanding big new contracts, people (apparently) being stopped from leaving. It cannot possibly be good for the "brotherhood" that we keep being told about. I reckon at least 50% of our success last season was down to everyone being willing to die for the cause and leaving absolutely everything on the pitch. I'm just worried it we have even 2 or 3 on the pitch that aren't giving absolutely everything, then the ones that are will be thinking "why should I be busting my balls for this guy next to me when he's not going to do the same in return!?" I really hope I'm wrong and the lads pull together but I have reservations.
Chester Dontlie Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 To me Schlupperman has no price. He has helped Leicester to win some very important points last year. Aside from his entertainment value he's versatile still very young and if given chance, could be Leicester's secret weapon yet again. I'm positive he'll do alright in Champions League. So he's unhappy, that's no big deal, just feed him with pizza and chocolates, he'll outpace everyone in the league anyway

tsintskaro Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 I dont know what to feel about Schlupps potential transfer being club's only and mane rumoured transfer for a while already

Not really. I wouldn't expect him to force his way into our first team now.

GeorgeTheFox Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 Im loving the immediate assumption that Kapustka is better than Schlupp
Gerard Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 2 minutes ago, GeorgeTheFox said: Im loving the immediate assumption that Kapustka is better than Schlupp I don't think people are making that assumption but Kapustka is a 19 year old Polish international, he's surely in a similar ball park to Schlupp and it's important we allow him room to develop and play rather than Schlupp taking his place on the bench.

They're messing about over Liam Moore's status as well, they're messing about over contracts as well by the looks of it. If reports are true Drinkwater deserves better, this Mahrez fiasco will drag on and on for the next two weeks. There's just no need for it after the magical fairytale of last season, messing about over contracts & money, are we turning into Arsenal or something? Agree.... You're right about Moore too. First he's not given a number so he's clearly not wanted, next minute they offer him a contract. Wtf.

He played quite a few at left back though and nailing down Chilwell for 5 years suggests that route is now blocked for him. If he genuinely wants first team football, i'm just not sure it will be good for anyone keeping an unhappy player until his contract runs out, when he is not a vital member of our first team.
Webbo Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 Sounds to me like the club want WBA to up their offer or get Jeff to submit a transfer request so they don't have to pay him his percentage.
brucey Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 Don't feel strongly about this either way, but if rumours are true that the owners blocked Schlupp's sale against his wishes, that means Mahrez is definitely staying....

They seem to be really going for us right now. They've run a misleading headline about Mahrez too.
Guest MattP Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 One of my best friends girlfriends is best mates with Schulpps Mrs. I could actually find out about this if I could be arsed, but I can't be.

Simoken Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 CR's philosophy at the beginning was that he doesn't want unhappy players so they can go.. Why go against all that suddenly, He repeated this statement numerous times last season. I honestly think this is the papers making up bullsh*t to get a story. I believe Jeff is happy as a kite.

Yeah at the Euro's, looked a pretty talented young boy. I don't dislike Schulpp either, sure he's a lovely bloke, he's just not at the level of footballing ability we now aspire too.

So you'd play 'a pretty talented young boy' over a powerhouse and a Premier League winner? On the basis of a few games in the Euro's where WALES were semi finalists...

I've said I'd keep Albrighton and Mahrez as our first choice wingers, Gray is first choice for me after those and then I'd expect Kaputska to push on if he's as talented as some have claimed he is, the "powerhouse Premier League winner" who started less games than Danny Simpson wouldn't be on the bench though for me now, so I'd sell him for 12 million quid.
Lesteban Posted 17 August 2016 Posted 17 August 2016 Vichai has been on Instagram again, this time saying both (Jeff and Mahrez) aren't for sale. https://instagram.com/p/BJN1QsOh0XC/
