If Schlupp played for someone else would anyone here be happy paying £12m for him?

I would say if he played for WBA and we went in fo him now this place would melt down wit we are better than that. But he is one of our own. So we have to put up with this shite till a younger better Jeff turns up.

Will add to this we take the 12m bid as being real. This time next summer or even Xmas we will have double that plus sum bids for gray. I don't even think Jeff figures in CR's plans. Gray Albrighton and Musa come in first. Let him go get games he won't get many for us.

I get all criticisms on Schlupp & agree with many, however....

You all wvnk off over £12m in the bank, I rue a weakening of our squad

Agree with this. We need to be strengthening the squad rather than weakening it.

Really think we would be crazy to loose jeff, like it or not in the next few seasons if not this one West Brom could well be a rival of ours. We should not be helping them strengthen with a player who on his day can be up there with our best.

He has so much potential and one day it all might click for him, he was one of the better players in pre-season and had a huge impact against Barcelona.... that in itself is why we shouldnt be allowing him to leave. The money in todays market is bugger-all, the club should take a firm stance on keeping him.

What if Mahrez pushes through a deadline day move? Our strongest position on the pitch would soon become our weakest and we would probably have to consider giving up with 442.

I hope its true Jeff has decided to stay! He would play in 20+ games, possibly more if we get injuries.

He might play in 20+ games but how many will he start?

Schlupp did play well in "the Great Escape" (although I'd argue nowhere near as well as you seem to be suggesting). Perhaps my assessment of a wing back is harsh though.

As a defender, he's not good enough. Last year he played 8 league games at left back in which we conceded 16 goals. In the 30 he didn't play there we conceded 20. Maybe under Pulis he will improve and become the ultimate mix of power and defensive intelligence but I won't be holding my breath.

As for Schlupp being the only player at the club who can "beat a defender on the outside and whip in a super low cross", we've seen Albrighton and Mahrez both do that from the right and only on Saturday Musa did it a couple of times from the left.

£12 million is not "nothing". We've just bought somebody who we obviously consider an upgrade for less than that - clearly we think that value is still there to be had if we look for it.

Yeah because our whole defence was great when we conceded those 16 goals lol

If you'd analysed each of those goals and spotted that most came from the right flank then I'd say valid argument. But we were shipping goals for fun that year.

Right now we need a return to a more direct style: early balls into the front two, diagonal balls in, running at defences before they are settled.  Musa and mahrez seems to keep pausing, checking and looking for a pass - we create mayhem when we run a defenses.  Jeff is part of that- it is what he does charging into the box.  Gray seems to check and cut inside or received the ball wide and check back or pass back.  WE don't need the £12m - we need players like schlupp - we have a busy season and both albrighton and schlupp will be important to us.

i wana know where the moneys gone

Paying players 100 grand a week, it's about turnover for ffp,I dread to think what our wage bill is now.

There is room for more players, but wages might be becoming an issue.

£12 Million is a good price - He's not going to be a regular starter and he's not got the ability or consistency to be a regular Premier League player.

Pace does not equal ability.

Schlupp at his best offers more than anyone we have on the left. On present form I'd prefer to see him on the left rather than Albrighton has he's been average to poor in the recent 2 games.

. Norwich want 20 mil for Brady.  all he offers is a decent left peg. No Pace or Physicality. Pullis is a smart operator For 12 million I'd keep Jeff .

Jeff Schlupp, wherever you may be

Blasting shots into the kop row Z

But it could be worse and you could be Kante,

Leaving the champions just to earn more money.

We'll piss ourselves in a few years time that anyone offered us 12 million for him.

We should somehow make Rondon part of the deal. At least then we'll have something to aim at with our pointless aerial balls in the six yard box.

We need Schlupp more than we need £12 million. We don't need the money. Jeff may not have the best technical ability, but he is a strong, powerful and pacey winger who can charge at a defence and create something when we need it. Really don't want him to go.

I would've started Schlupp v Arsenal, and possibly Hull too but with all this speculation I find that unlikely. We really needed him to come on v Hull, he could of made an impact.

Jeff plays in our system well. He is direct on the left and does not always elect to cut in like Gray. Adds that pace and power when needed. We need him. We all have our opinions

In all honestly, I was surprised by the news of a move away for Jeff in the first place. He'd get more game time at WBA, but he does feature regularly for us - albeit through sub appearances. I think he will play more us next season as well, if we can utlise his pace he is very useful.

Only thing that concerns me is that it is reported that he 'wanted the move' to West Brom. However, I suspect he wouldn't actually want to leave Leicester, I think it's just that aspect of game time.

Interested with how the mercury comment fits in with the ' don't want to keep anyone here who doesn't want to be here' line from Ranieri. Maybe he doesn't want to leave?

Or maybe we are just not wanting our squad to disintegrate...
