Yeah but he's not a signing for the development squad. He's going to have to play to reach his potential. Schlupp is not exactly old so unless Kaputska is better or at least as good then he's not going to play much and that will put back his development. I did write that before we torpedoed the Schlupp deal too.

Fair enough mate, I see what you mean now

Love the way Jeff muscles his way past defenders. I don't think we really have anyone else who can do that. Silly to be dismantling plan B when we are still trying to perfect a new plan A.

When he went to Man united on trial , do you think he would have thought twice about us if they had wanted him ? Football is mercenary . We should have  took the money.

yeah what a dick for hypothetically wanting to have left us when we were in the championship to go to Man United.

Nothing hypothetical about it . He went there on trial with a potential move if he were goodenough  ( he obviously wasn't ) . As I said football players and their agents are mercenaries . They come and go and now we have moved on and up as a club and he's not good enough for us anymore . We should have took the money it's a two way thing.

yeah i know he was there on trial, you're calling him a mercenary because he would have gone even though he didn't. he's not a mercenary if he goes United and he didnt even go lol

Stoked we are keeping Schlupp! Hope he can get a run of games in the upcoming cup competitions and make some sub appearances for the league games.

Plus, you never know, what if we go back to three at the back? And play wing backs. Jeff would be our best option there.

Wow unbelievable .....look over last season and he played his part. He had some big impact at times and towards the end of the season was unplayable.

Preseason against Barcelona he had a huge impact.

Love him or loathe him when he pulls on that famous blue shirt I want him to be the best he can and he gets my support.

i think some of you are spoilt.....if you had seen some of the dross over the past 40 years players like Jeff are a godsend.

I've have been going to watch this side for over 40 years, and what I see is an athlete not a Premier League footballer.

And for the record I support all of our players whilst at games including those I loathe - such as Jeff!

And once again someone (with the greatest of respect) irrelevant insults the player AND every professional that Jeff has ever worked with or for.

Agreed.

It's telling that a good manager like Tony Pulis is prepared to shell £12m on Schlupp. He's only 23 and is only going to get better. There's a big developmental leap from about the age of 23 to 25 in a lot of players - and Schlupp could quite easily make that leap from being a squad player to being a Premiership star, as Danny Drinkwater did between the ages of 23 and 25.  It's easy to get excited by prospects like Gray and Kapustka, and take an established player like Schlupp for granted. It wasn't that long ago a lot of people would have been prepared to sell Jamie Vardy because of how good Andre Kramaric was gonna be.

I actually felt we could have done with bringing Schlupp on against Hull. His ability to carry the ball forward at pace would have been useful against their deeper defence, and he's not going to get out-muscled by tough defences, and he'll always be tracking back.

We don't really have anyone else who can do that to the same level. He's a good squad player who actually might end up playing a big chunk of the season as our left winger.

You have lost me there.

However, my understanding is that this is a forum for opinions - but it seems I'm insulting everyone to do with the football club, past and present because I don't rate Jeff?

Furthermore, I would of thought 99.99% of what is written on here is irrelevant, and I'd particularly now include yourself in that number following the post I'm replying to.

Come alive mate, and then get a grip ffs!

Ok, most of what you just said is noise. Yes of course you're entitled to your opinion, and yes, of course I am equally irrelevant. However, playing the '40 years' card is worth zero, and suggesting the guy is only an athlete is an insult to all those who work with him, because I think they'd know if he was a footballer or not. I don't mind being called irrelevant, since I don't fling nonsense like this at players.

As for your last sentence, I have no idea what any of that means, other than it being some sort of self-aggrandizing one-upmanship.

The 40 years was in response to your quote:

"if you had seen some of the dross over the last 40 years"

And I must point out it was you who accused me first of being 'irrelevant'.

Whatevs.

I don't believe that was my quote, but no matter - I can only vouch for 30 years of dross :)

Reports saying he's unhappy that we didn't allow him the move, whereas Claudio is saying he is happy here. Either way the important matter here, is if he wants to play here at Leicester. I, like anyone else wants Schlupp to stay but only if he wants to as well. If he is happy to stay then I'm delighted, but if we're keeping him here and forcing it, it ain't the way.

SCHLUPP CONSIDERING TRANSFER REQUEST

Sky sources are telling us that Jeff Schlupp is now contemplating a transfer request.

We heard yesterday that the Leicester winger was "deeply unhappy" at not being allowed to talk to West Brom after they bid £12m for the player last Friday.

Sky sources told us that Leicester, whose manager Claudio Ranieri doesn't see Schlupp as a major part of his plans, weren't happy with the structure of that bid from West Brom.
