I'd like to see this great left foot

I'd like to see these goals an all.

He's scored 10 league goals for us. 4 in 59 appearances in the Premier League.

Hasn't really ever been given a regular run of games though. Be interesting to see how he would get on goals+assists wise if he started every game for 38 games a year.

He played 35 games In our first PL season.

I don't think saying he played '35 games' is entirely true as a chunk of those came from the bench I think. Also from Feb onwards he played left wing back not left wing.

We're now an established side in the premier league I'm sure he'd score a good amount if he was played on the wing in majority of the games. 3 goals was a poor return in the 14/15 season admittedly but was the start of his movement into a proper winger. Up until then he was a completely makeshift striker or leftback

He played, according to Transfermarkt, 2739 minutes during that seson which amounts to just over 30 games.

As comparison (against players who play in his position), Mark Albrighton played just over 33 games worth of minutes last season, Fuchs just over 32, Ulloa just over 16 and Okazaki just over 24.

Schlupp definitely got a good run of games that season.

Yeah I didn't say he didn't. We'd just been promoted, were bottom of the league for 3/4 of that season, and he played a quarter of the season from wingback (ish). I get your point but you're clearly not a Jeff fan so not much point in even having this debate

I've got absolutely no axe to grind with Jeff. I think he's a smashing lad and I'll always have time for academy players who give their all for us.

I just think that we should have let him further his career considering he'll only rot in our reserves and we've been offered a fantastic price. News that he is disappointed that we rejected WBA's offer (whether it's true or not is for debate) makes me think we've been a bit daft.

Ok Rob Kelly, has he been redoubling his efforts on the training pitch lately or something?

judging Jeff's contribution in goals/assists isn't entirely accurate. He scares the shit out of full backs and changes games because he's so direct. Did he score when he came on against Watford last year? No, but him coming on changed that game. we could be stuck in our half for ages unable to get up the pitch, then jeff picks it up flies forward about 70 yards and wins us a corner. Obviously there's every chances he ends up spooning it or whatever but he's got something none of our other players have imo. Not always starter for me but i'm glad we're looking to keep him.

We're actually mental for not letting him go against his wishes when we've got loads of cover in his positions having received an offer about 3 times more than he's actually worth.

I actually think I disagree with everything you have ever said on this forum, but no harm in that really.

Poor chap, you might want to book a meeting with your GP.

I'd like to know what the people who were happy to refuse £12m for Schlupp come up with a price on what we should sell at.

Anyone who says "we don't need the money" will automatically be classed as an idiot.

West Brom have admitted defeat in their £12million bid to sign Leicester City's Jeff Schlupp.

The West Midlands club had made four bids for the player with the latest being one of £12m, but all were rejected by City.

After a meeting between the City academy graduate and manager Claudio Ranieri, it was announced that Schlupp was staying at the King Power Stadium.

However, it was understood West Brom still had hopes of signing Schlupp before the transfer window shuts in 12 days' time.

But West Brom boss Tony Pulis today admitted defeat in their battle for Schlupp's signature.

He said: "We've been disappointed actually because we genuinely thought that Leicester were quite keen to move him on.

"He would have been an ideal player for us, he's got pace, a great left foot and he scores a few goals.

"But Leicester have decided that that's not the case and they want to keep him. He's Leicester's player, he's under contract, so we have to move on.

"We'd have been delighted, we know the kid would've come, but Leicester have decided they don't want to let him go."

Ranieri told the media at his wekly press conference yesterday that after speaking to Schlupp the player had told him he was happy to stay. "He is very happy. Jeff wants to stay. He stays with us," Ranieri said.

To me pulis is out of line with those comments. Attempting to make it seem like city didnt want him to unsettle and hope he pushes for a transfer.
