He absolutely ruined them. You can do all the prep and think you know everything about his game but that first time you play against him as a defender or a goalkeeper you're going to resort to bringing him down after he gets to the ball first in a seemingly impossible situation. Nobody in the conference could deal with it. Nobody in the championship could deal with it. He'll never be able to do that in the premier league up against cultured, accomplished defenders. Nobody in the premier league could deal with it. We've got global recognition now people are wise to that. Turns out nobody in the champions league is gonna be able to handle our not even very secret weapon. What a hero. Yep. He's also getting on and his pace is not diminishing. Physically he is just as powerful as he was back in the Championship. We have our physios to thank for that. The fact that our players are looked after so well and avoid injuries means that our players can last longer. Got a feeling Vards is going to still be rapid by the time he hits 32, 33 whilst under our care. If he had gone to Arsenal they would have broken him within 6 months.

Callabinho Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Brilliantly dispatched poor opposition. No complaints at all, just need to transfer that kind of performance across to the bigger teams, I'd like to see a change in formation against the better opposition, but playing like that we should ease past the weaker teams. Good first experience of Europe I'd say!

If the keeper clearly takes out a player in a goal scoring opportunity it should absolutely be a penalty and red card. Yes I agree marhez could have missed the pen so no punishment good performance rb still needs looking at
Moksky Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Interested to know how many fans travelled to Brugge. Did many get tickets in th home section.

It's basically just that, but there are some parts difficult to understand. Such a great song. Imagine some of our fans trying to get their heads round this.

I reckon about 500 without tickets. I would be surprised if any got in. No evidence of touts. Very drunken in a small square behind the main square but zero police evidence and no trouble apart from a few drunken handbags. Wonderful to be part of it it, and all good
ftfagos Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 So, sounds as though there is no chance of obtaining a ticket on the day even from a tout. 9000 empty seats is a disgrace. What prospects getting in the home end at Copenhagen/Porto then? Anybody know if tickets for the home ends can be bought in advance by a UK resident? A few did manage to join 1891 membership before this was closed. Would you get in even with a ticket? Might have to brush up on my Danish/Portuguese.

Pete Campbell Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Drinkwater and Amartey bossed the midfield, they are striking up a good understanding too.

I guess that would be a fair reflection of the numbers
Brick Top Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 The ability to count is not required if you want to become a police man. Looking tough in uniform, that's what it's all about.

Good to see Amartey getting some more game time. Hernandez looked decent. No real test for the defence though, which is really the most important thing this season. Three nil in a champions league match, ha. Don't understand your: 'Vardy needs a confidence boost'. He took them to the cleaners and affectively created the two dead ball goals ffs. Hernandez is too big and heavy for a right back in my opinion. He was skinned or out of position a few times in the first half - I don't think he's quick enough either to cope with spritely wingers types. Overall - first 3 mins aside - a good performance.
Babylon Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 A brilliant result, but a not totally convincing performance for me. We did what we had to do, but they were awful in defence and attack and that helped us no end. The defensive positioning was all over the place at times again, the back line that barely budged last year kept going walk about. Whether it's Morgan too close to Huth, or Hernandez too wide, or Morgan and Huth stepping out when they didn't have to or someone not keeping up with the defensive line and playing people on side. A better side would have picked us off. Amartey has a lot of potential, Ranieri just needs to work on him to get his head up and look about for danger, to drop back a few yards deeper sometimes, he just leaves holes because he's not close enough to the defense or focuses on the ball in front of him rather than the man he was meant to be keeping on eye on, it will come with time... he's 4 years younger than Kante, get him playing regularly and he could be a real asset. I wasn't sold on Slimani at all, his control was all over the place. He was blowing out of his arse after about 15 minutes and he passed the ball straight out of play a couple of time. Having said that.... it was only when Ulloa came on it became apparent how so much more involved he was than Leo, much more mobile, better pressing. Looking forward to seeing him after he's had time to settle in. Attack wise, not out free flowing best and needed three goals from set pieces, but we did look dangerous whenever we came forward. If we hadn't gone into "see the game out" mode, I think we could have picked them off a few more times. A work in progress... fingers crossed we can get back to back wins.
GaelicFox Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Slimani needs to improve but he will , class always does
sylofox Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Fvcking great result and a belter of a night. Me at one end of the pub party mode. 6 spuds fans at the other all you could here from that end was the sound of tears dripping in the beers FAF

John Williams Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 QUOTE .Posted Sunday at 18:11 · Club Brugge vs Leicester. 14 Sep 2016 / 20:45. Hi, in astrology (may work). The Logo/Symbol of the match will be: * Club Brugge: accepting the ways of a new stage of experience = try to cross a threshold and to meet unfamiliar and perhaps shocking experiences. * Leicester City: A Master Performing His Duties = The ability to draw on the power of a tradition in order to serve and inspire one's fellowmen. Good Luck Leicester.
