biggs Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 Fantastic result 0-3 away from home in the Champions League. What a day to remember. The energy the players had tonight was last year all over. Not even 2pm here and I'm going to enjoy this one with a few beers tonight.

I thought the rumour was they'd be more inclined to sell Silva in Jan if they don't proceed in the UCL. I thought Slimani looked promising. He harassed all night and held the ball up well. Wes played well too. And I love watching Musa run at people.

Albrighton, Hernandez, Amartey and Mahrez all particularly excellent although it was also a great all round team performance too. I noticed Marc played at RM a lot tonight, I've mentioned it before on quite a few occasions, he could be ideal in that position for us. Hopefully Mahrez can take confidence into the upcoming games. I've thought that he perhaps needs a really good performance to get his form on track, a real boost for him to be on the scoresheet twice as well this evening.

Larry_LCFC Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 Really happy with that performance. Looked shaky at the start and lucky not to concede that goal but we grew into the game. Mahrez still doesn't convince me with penalties though. Overall though, What a night! Superb
thegaffa Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 We looked hungry and pressed them brilliantly and that is and has been our blue print the past year or so. vardy particularly looked eager and willing all game and I think the partnership with slimani will be good for us as I think his movement commands a CB to come and mark him due to his physical presence, and teams seem to be quite happy dropping a CM on okazaki due to him not being an aerial threat or hold up man.

Hernandez was fine but he was caught out on multiple occasions. Simpson rarely does that.

All this panic wanting to change formation Morgan & Huth were back to their best, Fuchs & Albrighton had their best game of the season so far, Amartey & Drinky were awesome, Mahrez scored two, Slimani & Vardy were a handful. Perfect performance

Foxxed Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 Gray and Musa looked promising. Sounds strange, but I feel Vardy needs a confidence boost. Good to see Amartey getting some more game time. Hernandez looked decent. No real test for the defence though, which is really the most important thing this season. Three nil in a champions league match, ha.
