The last time I can remember being as bored as that down the City was the 0-0 with Hull in 14/15. That was the day I believed we'd go down so at least yesterday wasn't quite as bad as that.

Ah yeah, good point!

Agreed that was the day we were dead and buried as far as I was concerned and the first time I ever questioned our Nige, just didn't understand it, we needed points, wins, and we set up for a draw. Fuming!

Yeah yesterday we didn't set up for a draw, i'm not sure what we set up for...

And although we were flat, Southampton are due some credit. They are a top Premiership club despite the annual raid on their talent. We may have been lucky Cédric picked up a knock. Fantastic right back

Does the keeper have to make a save for it to count as a shot on target?

Not sure, but seems likely if we only had 1 shot on target.

Agree, I thought Southampton were really good and played lovely football. I rate all their back four, especially Van Dijk. We should have bid for him too.

They'll have another good season.

Two years ago we'd have lost this game....Southampton caned West Ham last week, haven't conceded in hours... We got a point off a team who were better than us on the day, pluses, Kasper, Amartey, DD, Simpson......and a clean sheet....not the disaster most people are making out on hear.....

Id agree with that- not a disaster But the players cant play like they did last season and expect us not to be disappointed when they dip way way way below that lvl....

Interesting player Van Dijk. There's little doubt he's quality but he plays so casually that mistakes occur. For example, his backpass which Vardy should have punished.

I get you.
Virtually on a shoestring budget it is then!

I was thinking 'on a shoestring budget relative to other clubs' might be what you were after...

Romeu was fantastic for them. We need a player like him in our side. Best player on the pitch on Sunday.

Agree, thought he was superb. I spoke to a Southampton fan a while back and he said he is a 'fans favourite' amongst the Saints fans, I can see why.

Agree. Tidied absolutely everything up.

Weren't we linked with him when he was still at Chelsea? Would've been a good signing to sit in front of the back four.

We appear to be not falling out over this - does that make us plastic Foxestalkers?

I rate Van Djik but but he must have given the ball away 20 times on Sunday.

He's a good defender, no doubt, but playing out of defence definitely isn't his forte. His pace and positioning means he gets away with it.

You're a direct man HighPeak, but you always elaborate so that's good with me. As for "plastic", we probably are judging by the logic of a fair few others.

Unless you're testing me again?

No, no test - just a prod at those that call others 'plastics'.

I know. As for those you refer to, well, there's nowt so queer as folk I guess.

Time for a few changes...
JEFF SCHLUPP is well overdue a return to the first team, fast attacking from the midfield his presence will also implode on the opposition and give us that extra bit of GRIT that we are so badly lacking around the middle of the park.
