Can you tell I'm not a monarchist?

I seem to recall a Leicester cycle speedway team called the Monarchs opposite the Blackbird Road Speedway stadium on Parker Drive, with an oval mud patch for a track.

The King was known to given certain companies preferential treatment. It's against the law to curse against the King. Speculation is that parts of Thailand despise him and what's he created - the country is currently in military junta.

Either way, it's impossible to say. However, it does raise concerns. You'd think King Power have stuck away the money however.

That's one of the reasons these kind of owners buy clubs, moving their money offshore to somewhere stable, where home authorities can't get hold of it, should the political situation change.

If the King is succeeded by a daughter, maybe the stadium will be renamed the Queen Power Stadium? At least the team could walk out to 'We are the Champions" with credibility....unless we opted for "Fat-Bottomed Girls".

But he has a son, doesn't he? So, will it be the Prince Power Stadium until he's crowned? Will the team have to dress in purple and walk out to Purple Rain - or Purple Reign?

As for Baddiel, he SHOULD be jailed - for life - on charges of being David Baddiel. He's another who belongs in the "Most Dislikeable People on TV" thread.

Oh, dear....better do some work!

I wanted to make some crappy joke about reading the thread title as 'King Bumboil Dies' but I don't want to offend anyone or get thrown in prison like..

Mods + posters

Those who have been to Thailand will know that the King was worshipped by all unlike anything we have witnessed.

Anything said against the King even in jest is seen as extremely offensive and over there severely punished.

Please respect the situation for the owners and OUR sakes

lol ffs.

Just because the owners are Thai doesn't change the fact we are an English club in the English Premier League.

I certainly won't be joining in with any inappropriate tribute that they may come up with.

Either uneducated. thick, pathetic rebel  or at best just a Ignorant prat.

This is the World Wide Web, Thailand is actually part of the world believe it or not. (Check back to the geography lesson you turned up to)

I can assure you our owners and all the Thais at the club and most decent people would be shock and wounded by the lack of respect.

There will be Thais following this site, there will also be journalist looking for the opportunity to stick the boot in again Once bite!?

Yes there should be free speech, but anything offensive on here is taken down!!!

You obviously need to get out more and experience other cultures. we can't change the world to all become like us, failed miserably when tried.

Thai people seem happy enough

And what, exactly, do you think would be the outcome if the Thais were to come across FT and read this thread?

Moronic response.

I'm not trying to put over my opinion just warning that naive or attempts to be funny may filter back.

This is a forum that represents a very minor portion of the Leicester fan base. I don't think that anything said on here about this bloke will have any affect on what the people of Thailand will think about our owner or club whatsoever. No need to be so paranoid.

Unmeasurable

I don't think they would read the site but journalist obviously do.

Buddhists don't get angry but they would feel let down....again

"Unmeasurable" in what way though? They pull their money out of the club or what?

I know the place very well.

and we don't have a particularly good record!

If the Buddhists will feel let down that the people of Foxestalk don't have too much time for a ruler who suppresses free speech and jails those who voice their opinion, then that's unfortunate for them.

It's got a population of 67 million. Bit of a generalisation.

I've met them all!

I was referring to our 3 fringe players PR stunt, where the slant eye comment was more offensive that 3 Dicks.

I don't mind any flack i get myself, just sent out a bit of a warning/advise early before the inevitable daft stuff starts flowing.

Signing off

Don't lose sleep. all tame on here other than one child.

Not measurable because the guy has basically ruled the country for 70 years and obviously hasn't died before.

They are a sensitive lot when the Royal family is involved, that's their prerogative.

Golden Statue outside the stadium paid for entirely by proceeds from the sales of Mahrez, Vardy, Drinky and Slimani. If there's anything left we will use it to bribe WBA to take Schlupp.

May be best not to comment on things we do not really understand.  The King is 'God' in Thailand and we should respect this and the best way to avoid issues and faux pas is to probaly close this thread as not to upset the Owners and make comments that are in-appropriate.

Lese majeste in Thailand is more of a political tool to be fair. Politicians use it to quieten their opponents, and in such a politically turbulent country it has been used to effectively keep the peace, saving lives. I believe that's how it's justified. Although there have been cases of ridiculous applications of the laws (by politicians/authorities), the king himself said openly that people should be allowed to criticise his conduct. Few would though anyway, because he is genuinely loved by the people.

There shouldn't be any sort of applause at our game though. It's just not relevant. If there is I hope people just let it go out of respect for the owners and not do something silly like boo it.

Blessing and wishes to King Bhumibol Adulyadej on his journey to his next life , a Devine and serene man who pleased the gods and served his subjects well  , condolences to the Thai people and peace and harmony in this difficult time.

Lets stuff chelsea as a mark of respect to this great man
