Vardinio'sCat Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 All those saying he has nowt to do with the club should remember that his photo was paraded round the pitch when we took the title, so he means a lot to our owners. Vichai and Top have shown respect for our club, and conducted themselves in pretty exemplary fashion, imho, so returning the love would be nice. I can't see there being applause, but if there is a minutes silence, it would be respectful to honour it. I don't think the late king was a divisive figure, from what I have read, but this crown prince fella seems like a total b***end. The Thai's have more than one reason to grieve.

Probably a minutes silence should be respected in respect of our owners who respected their King.

NewEnglandFox Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 As some of you may remember, the King of Thailand went for a lap of Honour around the KP about 6 months ago. So to answer the question will the club or the owners pay some sort of respect to him, somewhere between most likely and definitely. It's not exactly a question of the political ideals of Foxestalk.
Harry - LCFC Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 When I read through the posts defending the idea that something should be done to mark this bloke's death I just think to myself, "weak". It is not disrespectful to refuse to take part in a demonstration for the late Thai King, it's actually an acknowledgement of two things: 1. Human freedom matters so we don't ignore the acts of those who diminish it 2. This man has nothing to do with the club so an LCFC match would not be an appropriate occassion to stage this sort of thing A desire not to offend the owners should not lead anyone to overlook either of these things I've also learnt from this thread, after many months suspecting it, that GaelicFox is a troll. That post with the image in it confirms it beyond doubt.
SemperEadem Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 The owners could curl a steamy one out on your chest and some on here would still applaud it from them.
cambridgefox Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 when i was in Thailand I couldn't believe how many pictures of the King were about.Nearly every house had a picture too. Heard a story, whether it was true or not that a foreigner wanted some beer( already p!ssed) and was told due to some election or something he wasn't allowed to.In revenge he drew a moustache/ beard on a picture of the King and ended up in the Bangkok Hilton for a few years. This story might of course be Sh!te.
Guest Lako42 Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 Such a shame how ignorent some people can be regarding these things. Getting knickers in a twist about something that isn't evening happening is also a tad embarrassing. Bedwetters
Izzy Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 I think I'm right in saying the Man City owners are well connected or maybe even related to the Emir/King/Royalty of Abu Dhabi. So if he died, would the Man City fans be expected to hold a minutes silence/applause? And would they be happy to? I dunno...

Why don't you try and inform yourself about why the Thai's held him in high esteem, before getting all Shami Chakrabati on us. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/oct/13/king-bhumibol-adulyadej-obituary Once you take into account cultural differences, and our own Queens role as head of state and the church, I think you are on shaky ground. Love it when you agree your grand but when you put up a decent defence of a respectful show of condolence your a troll 7000 posts and near 1400 reputations , lot of posts and reputations for a troll seems your point of view is like a good deal of your posts incorrect subjective drivel , usually defensive and read like they were composed by a spoilt child only a child would surmise like you do And british people making a stand and judging other countries on human rights is laughable .... this week alone the Saudis murdered hundreds of children in the Yemen , with BAE weapon systems that this country sold the Saudi government ! Have they stopped sales , hell NO ! Today from an RAF base they shipped the replacement bombs to Saudi ! Now that real human rights abuse , also we have a man locked in an embassy in london for years because this government will snatch him off the street and send him to America , his crime ? Telling the truth wake up , and come back to debate properly , and leave the name calling to the kids ! Troll

Sharpe's Fox Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 **** the king of Thailand any any rubbish that commemorates him. If his subjects are so gutted about it more fool them I hope they carry on to be so dim to accept their wonderful dictatorship.
Wymsey Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 After all this, I hope he's remembered on the clappers. 'The King lives on, then and forever.' #FEARLESS

That's enough for me. I also fail to see how the fact we have a monarchy (which I oppose) means I must show respect towards that of another country.
GaelicFox Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 "The Xenophobic Leicester Freedom party" is out in force tonight I remember the posts when the Visit Thailand banners and flags went up it was like a UKIP party political broadcast think this is going to end up embarrassing our owners and that's sick considering all they have done for us , maybe we should get Pierpoint back in
ajthefox Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 Couldn't give a fvck about our monarch, let alone someone elses who suppresses free speech and jails people that don't like him.
