Kaputska, Gray, Mahrez, Albrighton, Schlupp

I'm not sure if this has had a thread before, but if we have so many wingers, why does Ranieri always play Albrighton, Sclupp, and Mahrez and then Gray and Kaputska get a little look in here and there, yet seem to be on form.

my view/observation is that Albrighton and Mahrez are tired and not in great form at the minute. Especially Albrighton

Schlupp just need dropping altogether. I want to like him, but just can't

gray has been in great form so far this season for club and England u-21 and needs a run of games in the side to really establish himself in the side. maybe an idea is to rotate the wingers and give each of them game time and the ability to shine

Yep, something needs to happen. Not really qualified enough to say what

I struggle to see why Gray isn't getting more opportunities. I think when Kingy came on on Saturday, Claudio was perhaps saving Gray for Tuesday?

Re Kaputska, I get the hype, he appears to be an exciting young player. But maybe tactically he's not ready yet. That said, Schlupp was ****ing abysmal on Saturday - I'd be surprised if Schlupp knew how to spell tactics let alone understand them. Like others have said - I'd love for him to be successful, but I don't think he's going to be.

The decision to play Schulpp on Saturday was one of the weirdest decisions I've seen for a long time, probably since someone inside the club actually turned down 12million for him.

I have no idea why Gray didn't play, given the amount of time he has played this season it was the perfect time to give him 90 minutes to try and sharpen him up.

in regards to schlupp everyone is slating him and most think he doesnt engage his brain. to answer that look at when we stayed up the players were celebrating and schlupp was at first wondering what the hell was going on. it looked so funny on television

I know! Haha. I mean, he just seems to have no concept of his own abilities. He's quick, I mean - USE IT! Carry the ball forward, even if it's just 10 yards. There was a time on Saturday when he literally stood with the ball for about 2 minutes wondering what to do.

Whether anyone wants to believe it is their decision but I was told that Kaputska has spent a lot of time working with the fitness coaches to try and bulk him up for him to be able to cope with the demands of the Premier League.

I'd expect to see him start to feature more in the new year.

Completely agree - something HAS to change, every game I've watched this season (except Burnley), we seem to be waiting for something...not sure what, but players just sort of waiting for somebody else to make something happen.

In which case we should be playing players that CAN make something happen. Not really seen the little cabbage fella, but Even if he's not better than Jeff (:o) he surely is worth a try.

i really don't mind losing away to United, Chelsea and Liverpool...but the players shouldn't expect to retain their positions with those performances.

I'm not sure playing for England U21's and having a good game really translates to being good enough to be starting in the premiership week in week out tbh

That's a bit like saying somebody on loan to a championship team who scored a goal against Rotherham deserves to start in the premiership over last seasons player of the season

Didn't Beckham go out on loan at Preston and score against Rotherham..?? He seemed to do OK in the Prem! :D

I think I understand Schlupp starting on Saturday. He has played in defence before so Ranieri must have thought he'd help, but yeah that didn't really go to plan. At least I got a couple laughs from his antics. Only other reason is that maybe Ranieri feels pressure from last season's lads for game time.

I'd rather just give Gray a starting spot. At least he wont get the ball on a counter, completely stand still then pass it to an opposing player.

I've been accepting of Schlupp in the past but he was woeful on Saturday, bizarre that he jumped ahead of Gray in pecking order for Saturday, even moreso when he started on the right wing. I would have him 4th choice winger at the minute and thats only because I haven't seen Kapustka play yet.

I think Albrighton is getting a bit more stick then he deserves, yes he gives the ball away a lot but thats generally because he tries to cross the ball in the box at every opportnity. He's bound to have a low pass accuracy. The very little we do create generally comes from him or Drinkwater, the near Luiz own goal at the weekend was nearly a brilliant cross.

We need to rotate both the RW & LW positions, every game. They're our play makers, we need to keep them fresh.

Vs Copenhagen, Mahrez RW & Gray LW.

Vs Palace, Albrighton RW & Kaputska LW.

We turned down £12m for Schlupp. Just think about that for a moment. It'd be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

Made me laugh that we played both Schlupp and Musa at left mid at the same time for a while on Saturday.

Supposedly 28m+ worth of players playing in the same position because the one had to cover for the other's inability to play football.

I'm willing to bet everything I own on this not being true.

Schlupp in theory should have been a better shout than Gray defensively. It didn't work, but I can understand the theory. Ranieri obviously doesn't think Kapustka is ready yet and I'm happy to trust him on that. The lad is only 19 and the premier league is a massive step up for him, it'll take time and there's no need to rush him in.
