Chico1958 Posted 19 November 2016 Posted 19 November 2016 Leicester City ‘heavily’ interested in Olympiacos captain Luka Milivojevic Leicester’s chances of keeping the Premier League title have probably ended already after they only won 3 games of the opening 11. Manager Claudio Ranieri is apparently looking to add to his team, with Luka Milivojevic an option. Over recruitment in the summer may well be one of the reasons for the slow start. But if the latest Ranieri claimed interest is correct, there’s going to be more on the way in January. The big Leicester loss was selling N’Golo Kante to Chelsea, and the club then brought Nampalys Mendy in from Nice, but the 24 year old has been held back with injury issues. Just when it was thought he was recently returning, the Frenchman suffered yet another setback. So into the potential transfer picture comes Luka Milivojevic, a 25 year old Serbian defensive midfielder, with the claims coming via Sport24 in Greece. Milivojevic has been superb for Olmypiacos since signing for them in 2014, hence being captain. It’s only a matter of time before the midfielder leaves to test himself in a harder league, and no doubt get a much bigger pay packet. Olympiacos officials are expecting a January bid from Leicester City and initial talks have already started, most specifically in London. The Greek side don’t want to lose Luka Milivojevic, so it’s not in their interest to talk up a move. It would be a strange transfer rumour to pluck from thin air for the Greek media, which may suggest there’s actually something in this one. Recruiting from Greek football isn’t the most obvious option for Premier League clubs. However, Leicester have shown in recent years that they’re prepared to be creative when looking for targets, casting their net wider than some others. Luka Milivojevic to Leicester City doesn’t sound like the craziest idea on the face of it, and it’s certainly a story we’ll be keeping an eye on. This appears to be a decent rumour to

And we were in a prime position for the first time in our clubs history. To play same 11 virtually every weekend and to have no cover at rb, cb, cm for a team competing in the champions league is dreadful.
sm1 Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 Unless Claudio finally abandons 442 and plays 3 in midfield I can't see us signing all these CMs. This guy, Ndidi & Silva along with drinky, amartey, king, Mendy & james.

You can scrap James off that list as I doubt he's gonna play much for us again after being out for so long. And Amartey and king haven't filled us with great confidence (granted Amartey is still young and learning) so personally I'd be happy if we signed 3 centre mids in January. If we did we should either loan Amartey out or consider playing him at cb.
SheppyFox Posted 2 December 2016 Posted 2 December 2016 If he will keep king away from our first 11 GERRIMIN!!

Arriba Los Zorros Posted 5 December 2016 Posted 5 December 2016 Yes please, finally a transfer rumour that could improve our midfield! Am basing this solely on 9 minutes of youtube footage, but he has good feet (2 that he can actually use), good tackler and looks to get it forward. I.e. what we need to replace N'Golo

RoyFox Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 1 assist in all competitions last season (31 games). He is not the creative midfielder we're looking for, now that Ndidi looks like joining as a CDM.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 I can't really see anything that makes me sit up, on the basis of that footage. The Premiership is poles apart from that league.
norwichfox Posted 10 December 2016 Posted 10 December 2016 Is this a Ranieri recommendation based on Ranieri's outstanding work with the Greek national Team?, I imagine Claudio had plenty of opportunity to watch him and assess that the size of his ar$e is just right for our bench, and possibly a good leader for the under 23's if "Benny" gets transferred out in January. I don't think he's right for us......maybe a swap deal with one of our many spare wingers as it works better to pack the midfield than packing the wings.
