The Fox Covert Posted 13 January 2017 Posted 13 January 2017 It doesn't look as though we need someone right now, so how about Shinji, when he retires from football? If he is the same off the pitch as he was on it he would be a great fit. Boundless effort and enthusiasm and the team is usually better with him in it, even if his footballing talents aren't absolutely top drawer. A bit like I remember Birch as the engine room of the midfield in the seventies.
fazzyfox Posted 13 January 2017 Posted 13 January 2017 It's got to be Rusty Lee but with her usual ratio of 5% dialogue, 95% laughing her head off she might need to start her bit at 1 o'clock.
Aus Fox Posted 13 January 2017 Posted 13 January 2017 Christian Fuchs when he retires is the obvious choice, I think he is one of the few really good characters in the game at the minute. I think the tweet I saw posted on here from Martyn Waghorn summed up what the Birch brings not just pre match and half time but all over the club.

Izzy Posted 13 January 2017 Posted 13 January 2017 Whenever the time comes, if I were the club I'd let the Birch recruit and chose his own successor. No body knows better than him what the job involves and what skills are required. He'd do a great job at grooming his replacement before handing over the reigns I reckon. In the Birch we trust

Melbourne Fuchs Posted 14 January 2017 Posted 14 January 2017 I could have sworn this thread would be about us replacing Schlupp!
