Raj Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 (Mods merge this where you deem fit please) We MUST amend our minsets as fans. Last season was great, historic and will remain in our minds forever. BUT Now is the time to forget as we have what could be the biggest challenge yet. I don't see the 7 game out of 9 winning streak which saved us under Nigel P with these players and staff. We need to have a seige mentality which is ultimately actioned on the pitch. No more prancing around as Champions for now... Time for battle!!!
stripeyfox Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 The mindset of the fans is not going to make a jot of difference, other than mentally preparing oneself for relegation. Unfortunately it is down the players to save us and I just don't see it happening at the moment. We have players badly out of form but can't drop them because we have no one "ready" to replace them. Morgan looked finished yesterday, hands on hips and looking up to the sky. But he keeps playing because evidently he is out "best bet". I can cope with relegation, but the financial meltdown implications - like continuing to pay Vardy over £5m/year for the next three years in the Championship - are what worries me more. But,as I said, my "mindset" is irrelevant. The players don't give a shit what I, or you, or anyone of us think.
cc_star Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 I don't think anyone is realistically comparing this season to last But if we compare it to other previous relegation campaigns - It's obvious Ranieri is coming up woefully short He has to go if we are to have a chance If the owners won't do because of sentimentality then more fool them... Imagine being in the Championship with players on £100k/wk. Ranieri has made everything so rotten we could be gone for a decade or more. He is not a patch on Pearson or Adams or other PL relegation-threatened managers HE doesn't have the mindset We need to do a Swansea or Hull
goose2010 Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Totally agree but unfortunately for ever 1 fan that will be on board with this there are about 30 morons that just don't get it and would rather boo and slag people off.
Raj Posted 6 February 2017 Author Posted 6 February 2017 For about 15 mins in L1 the atmosphere was almost like that of last season when all the pundits said it was rocking. It did seem to lift the players....bUT when that goal went in..BANG...it was over. No matter what we do,sing, use clappers drum, anything to get that extra 5& from these tw@ts on the pitch. In a season or so they may all be gone...we however will have to live with being the worst Champions EVER....we CAN get out of it....just hope the PLAYERS have that mindset else we are FeCKED
David Hankey Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Surely, it's all about the "mindset" of the players!! They are supposed to professional footballers playing at the highest level. They know what to do so the question that needs addressing is; why aren't they doing so. It can't be about pay and conditions. They have proved they are capable so what is the real problem?
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Said this from the start. A good chunk of our fans went into this season thinking we'd win it again ffs.

Don't think calling other fans morons really helps either, it's been hard to watch this season, and people have justification to grumble, that doesn't make them morons. By creating the mindset of your a moron is your not being positive, because things are not great at present, that causes divide, and doesn't bring everyone together, which is what I think raj is getting at, create that togetherness that brought the great escape, and the title

For some reason. I get the feeling that we're going to be paying out totally immoral wages next season in the Championship because said clauses have been left out., particularly with Summer signings and re-negotiated contracts during the close season whilst we were still riding the crest of the wave. That will have a knock on effect to alienate the fans even more.
M0901 Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 I'm one of the more optimistic fans, but even I can see the desperateness of the situation How we feel won't really rub off on the players that much, it's up to them to realise what state we're in and pull their fingers out It's absurd how shot we are of confidence. We need a win and need it this weekend.

I think I can say with confidence that this is the case. "We won the league, relegation? You're having a laugh, that will never happen!"

No chance, I would be amazed if at least 14 clubs just have them as standard. Maybe even Tottenham too? I'm sure the £100k a week boys weren't worried about relegation and if they were probably thought they'd soon be snapped up by another PL club. I'm sure the relegation clause didn't bring up a lot of issues when negotiations were going on. It would be crazy for a club like ours not to do it considering six clubs are almost immune from relegation and three from the other fourteen will drop every season.
foxinsocks Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Mind set of the fans? Some think the players arent trying... sone think tanieri is the problem.... some want nigel back.... all over the place We have cr and the squad we have. We won the pl together.... we must fight on together. Now is not the time to fall apart

The comments you hear and actions you see actually make you think why do I bother mixing with these types. But then I think there is some decent fans around that actually have played the game and you realise that football is a tough game when you confidence is shattered. Credit to those fans that do get behind the lads but I swear you could take 10k out of that ground and still have a better atmosphere
foxinsocks Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 There are many view coz we're frustrated confused and frightened. We've all got a view on how to solve it... i know the ckub havent gone the route i would go...yet. It will get worse while we are neither safe nor down.

foxy boxing Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 you can't blame the fans for being annoyed and dismayed about our situation over the years it has been extreme lows and highs and you can forgive fans for being a little bipolar!. after last season we didn't really expect to compete this time but we all thought we would be nowhere near relegation candidates. our fans probably think we can't turn things around as the team is showing no signs of doing so. the fans minds must be scrambled at the moment wondering how we can be so good last season and in less than a few months be absolute useless. the fans need and will get behind the team but the team need to give the fans something, anything just a glimmer of hope
