Weller in Tights Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 We are the new Millwall. Everyone hates us, do I care, no. I've always hated all other clubs and all the pundits. They all jumped on the Leicester bandwagon last year, they all went on and on about Leicester being their '2nd Team'. Now, they all want us down. Well **** 'em. Whether you are furious Raneiri was sacked, or you are glad he's gone, or you're somewhere in between, let's get behind OUR Leicester. WE own this club, we have been there through everything and we'll be there long into the future. Let's show the world that WE are Leicester. Sing your hearts out for Leicester tomorrow. If you are worried some of the players have been holding back, well just sing the generic Leicester songs. Personally, as an old git I will forever be grateful to Raneiri for the rest of my life. I've seen some highs (The Bloomfield years and the O'Neill years) and plenty of lows. But last season was the greatest year of my 56 yr life. He has also left with such dignity, he is a true gentleman. BUT LETS SHOW THE WORLD TOMMOROW THAT LCFC IS OUR CLUB. SOD THE MEDIA, SOD THE PEOPLE WHO LOVED US LAST YEAR AND NOW HATE US. WE ARE LEICESTER, NO ONE LIKES US, I DON'T CARE!
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 What about 'sod the players'? Does that not count? Or are we now to 'sing our hearts out for the lads' if they finally start trying?
Weller in Tights Posted 26 February 2017 Author Posted 26 February 2017 Hilarious, Col City, 1st to reply, it had to be ? Hey Col what about Cambiasso coming back as manager? (folks that's a joke by the way, just doing my best to wind up Col).

seenitall Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 Gonna be toxic - don't be surprised if the spoilt brats get booed
Bristol fox .... Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 In good times and the bad we always back the lads....... Its pure journalism trying to derail our club because theres no proof at all our players asked for claudio to be sacked. makes me laugh really because its the same journalists and pundits that were saying it was the most uninspiring appointment for leicester city. Listen to them all now !!!!!!!!!
harpendenfox Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 I don't get this nonsense about the players not trying. Poor form, yes. Gripped by fear, yes, calamitous loss of confidence, absolutely yes. i simply don't see them not trying. (Yes, I watch a lot of games live)
Ted Maul Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 The atmosphere will be good. Possibly a few boos initially, but the vast majority won't have that much of an axe to grind with the players and owners, and I would like to think we don't have too many fans who are stupid enough to think creating a negative atmosphere will help. I'm hoping the team are re-energised; a fast start will give the fans a massive lift. We need to put this whole episode behind us, showing the team and the rest of the footballing world that we are Leicester City, we are united, we are loud, and we don't give a flying f**k what anyone thinks of us.

Tielemans63 Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 3 minutes ago, seenitall said: Gonna be toxic - don't be surprised if the spoilt brats get booed Got to agree. I think anyone hoping for a 'we're all in it together' -type response are going to be disappointed. Claudio's sacking has divided the fans and as you say, a lot of fans aren't impressed with the players' role in the whole affair. If the team don't come out fighting (and they haven't really all season) then the atmosphere will deteriorate quite rapidly I'd imagine.

Don't laff, it's true I suspect. I was being genuine you know... we've gone for months with criticizing the players for lack of effort, now to 'they've lost Claudio his job' and all that, yet I bet if they play well tomorrow, that'll be forgetten in 15 minutes and the 'sing up' brigade will be full of voice and song. Just leaves a bitter taste really. I guess that's football, and fans.
AmarteyAndChill Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 If the atmosphere is toxic it will make the whole situation 1000 x worse
sdb Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 Fresh start. Important we get it right else we're a champo team in 3 months. we need to be the 12th man (cliche I know). There will be a time for thanking CR (before the game/half time?) but we need to start getting results. No point hammering the players during games, especially when we don't know what's gone on.
splinterdream Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 12 minutes ago, seenitall said: Gonna be toxic - don't be surprised if the spoilt brats get booed Anyone that Boo's the players doesn't deserve the season ticket and should be forced to sell it to someone who wants to support the team
Ted Maul Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 Seriously, to anyone unhappy and actually considering booing the players- just have a think about what we've been through with them. We've still got the same group who were despondent at Watford. We've got the same group who won us the Championship. We've got the same group who pulled off the greatest great escape. The same group who won us the pissing league. The same group who have got us through to the knockout stages of the Champions League. Claudio has gone. We will never fully know the real reasons. Are you actually prepared to throw aside the bond with those players because The Sun told you they mutinied? If you are, go f**k yourself.

How do you know this??? Maybe the players were following Claudio's directions to total failure. To me it always looked as though the effort was there but not a game plan. How does CR come out I this unscathed simply because he's such a gentleman
whetstonefox Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 It'll only be toxic if we're 3 goals down after 20 minutes and playing like they still don't care. it'll be positive at kick off, one team etc, after that it's in the players hands

How does CR come out I this unscathed simply because he's such a gentleman Think you've misunderstood me. I wasn't saying it was their fault, I was making the point that a lot of fans in the ground tomorrow will feel that they were involved due to various stories in the press and therefore won't be happy- it's not my opinion as such. You might not think they were to blame but plenty of supporters do. I'm not sure either way tbh.
Westerby Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 How many of the players went to Claudio on the Thursday before Southampton and said "Can we try out a diamond in the first half on Saturday please, or we'll mutiny" It seems unlikely on the basis that they still had no idea what it meant at half time!.
Weller in Tights Posted 26 February 2017 Author Posted 26 February 2017 Folks, I started this as a plea to all supporters, whatever your views, to get behind Leicester City, OUR CLUB, tomorrow. there are loads of other threads where you can put your gripes about: RANEIRI, THE PLAYERS, THE OWNERS, RICHIE WELLENS COL CITY Any or all of the above PLEASE, let's show the world that we are LEICESTER.⚽?⚽
Vestan Pance Posted 26 February 2017 Posted 26 February 2017 In the main I think the vast majority will be supportive but at the same time pretty sad and disappointed that Claudio has gone, common sense wil prevail hopefully. Then there will a minority who have lapped up some of the fabricated garbage that has been written and will be pretty negative. Everyone hates us now, the Leicester love-in felt uncomfortable to me. Bring on the scousers!

All said and done we are all Leicester fans through thick and thin, both of which have shown up on our doorstop recently. The rest of the world can stuff their opinions you know where. It's never been easy being a Leicester fan as we bounce around here and there but when we dropped to the 3rd tier, banners were made 'just visiting' and the fans rallied around the team. We're in a bit of a pickle once again and as Leicester fans it time again to say screw the pundits and outsider's and shower the team with strong support in our efforts to stay up.....tough maybe for some but who else are you going to support?
