Lionheart10 Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 I'm sure someone told me there is something on social media urging fans tonight to light up their phones and sing Ranieri on 65 mins.

Dan Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Leicester sack title winning manager so in horror at the "ungrateful" fans the alternative is to boo the players who won the title. I genuinely don't know what goes through some people's heads. It actually scares me.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Somebody told me that some kid is starting a march from the clock tower tonight before the game?

All of that has been lacking this year. I am asking for one fan to tell me what Claudio Ranieri's game plan was, what his football philosophy was and not one person can tell me!! He won the league be tweaking an already semi successful formula and philosophy, he went back to his old-school techniques and thing fell apart. Why is it so difficult for people to see what happened? I think you're looking back with 'blue tinted' glasses! Pearson had no philosopy. His tactics of trying to play defensivly (with a crap defence) was precisely what got us into a rock bottom position in the first place (despite being promoted on a system of attacking passing football). It took the introduction of Huth and the nous and instruction of Cambiasso to sort that one out, though in fairness NP did seem to go along with it to his credit and the rest is history. But... the plonker didn't learn did he! He went to Derby and following the aquisition of some fairly decent attacking players, did exactly the same thing and failed miserably only to be shown up by McClaren who with the same players, started an immediate winning run and got them from near the bottom of the table where Pearson had left them to the play off places! There were also rumours regarding his personalty again as well. If you know any Derby supporters ask them about him, they usually think him to be an inept twat. As for Claudio's 'philosophy', I tend to find that term a current moder,n often used bollocks phrase, spouted by people like Van Haal who repeated it every week, yet changed his team and tactics like his underpants, hence I don't think he had one. I dare-say you could quote 'pass and move', 'long ball game' or 'counter attacking' as phiosophies if you really wanted to but I tend, as a complete layman to refer to tactics. As for Ranieri, if you can't see the minor yet devastating tweeks he made to Pearson's set up I'll tell you. Firstly, by making Vardy his focal point striker, he utilised his pace and turned him from a 5 goal a season man into a 20+ one. We were still leaking goals as he sat back and took stock of his staff and how they'd been playing. He then despensed with wing backs to replace them with 'old fashioned' if you like, full backs, thereby shoring up the defence (around the third best in the Premiership last season if I remember right). He was indeed in fairness, very fortunate to have the aquisition of Kante, but had lost Cambiasso. Whilst not his best side, he moved Allbrighton to the left to assist in defence and midfield, such is his workrate, leaving Marhez on the right to do what he does best, but....still expected him to do his fair share of defensive covering. We all know what Drinkwater was able to do due to the work rate and excellance of Kante. For me, and its only my opinion, NP to Ranieri is a tactical pygamy. NP got lucky then failed miserably at Derby, should we encourage his return? Not in a million years but just like Ranieri, he should be respected for what he did in our history. To bad mouth Ranieri is unforgiveable though as he masterminded the dream, not the players, he did it and on the pitch, for that brief moment in time all the players appeared to have bought into it. We've all got our own theories about what went wrong and both the team and the manager are culpable. I do however still maintain that love or hate a manager, if your willing to draw and spend your ample wages, then you should bust a gut out on the pitch for the cause and that's not been happening. Nevertheless, we are here for the team not the managers and transient players.

If you feel that strongly about it then go and hold a candlelight vigil outside his house or something whilst the game is on. If you truly care about the club then we need to close ranks and create a siege mentality that we're all in this together. Support for Ranieri will be a message of disapproval of the owners and players. We need to get behind the lads more than ever to give them that extra motivation to get us out of this mess. Bet you were gutted on the 65th minute!!!

Dan Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 joked at the time we'd go and concede after that and sure enough we did. Atmosphere was ideal in my opinion. Team and fans seemed as strong as ever and there was still a send off for Ranieri in there too. I don't think it could've gone any better in terms of fan / player relations.

Hopefully a bit of blood and guts football (a bit of attacking threat) from here will restore the atmosphere we carried from the previous two seasons. Uniting behind the players that everyone other than Leicester fans have decided to dislike is the best way forward.
Jon the Hat Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Great noise from the Crowd on TV, was watching on the plane to Sydney, about 21 hours of flying in! Had to get off the plane at 55 mins which was annoying, so was great to see the result when I got to my hotel.
Crazy Kop Corner Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 I thought the fans were great. We showed support for the team and some of the players looked visible uplifted - Albrighton, Schmeichel and Vardy in particular. Not a great deal of Claudio sentiment until the 65th minute which was superbly done. I thought we showed great support and a touch of class to be honest although it helped having a performance to support.
Ted Maul Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Atmosphere was great last night. Fans showed the players that we're behind them early doors, and the players responded. The tribute to Ranieri was loud and appropriate, but apart from that it was all about the team and Shakespeare. A few people around us upset about the decision, but they'll get over it if we carry on playing like that.
Number 6 Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 I agree with above, great from fans. Backed the team throughout and this was commented on by a few media people who were probably expecting a protest. Ranieri tribute was contained and loud and worked well. Other minutes were spent encouraging the players. Those teams around us would have wanted us to turn on the players no doubt.
