I'VE HAD IT WITH THESE FVCKING BUY-OUT CLAUSES!!!!!

Recommended Posts

If this is true then 12 million is an absolute joke. We got him relatively cheap because his contract was running out, and i think 99% of us on here would have said he would be worth way more than 12 million by now. Some teams would have paid 12 million to get him from Birmingham! I refuse to believe that Rudkin thought that he would ever be worth less than Jordan ****ing Ibe

We got taken to the cleaners in January last year by opportunist/smart agents who took advantage of a lack of experience of negotiating at the top table.

Anybody who can't see that is an ostrich.

Where's all this "mahrez will be off in the summer" talk come from?

He's not had a good season one or two good games that's about it. If anything he looks like a one season wonder. His stock isn't as high as it was last season and he didn't really attract much interest then.

Yeah Mahrez is rubbish, but obviously we will be needing 40+ million for him. lol

These release clauses are really annoying but we're being unfair to Rudkin here. Do people really think he puts them into contracts because he wants to? It's sometimes the only way a player will sign for us and they don't want to sit on the bench on a long term contract if things don't go their way.

The most annoying part is the paltry amounts these clauses are set for but again that's more down to the player's agent than Rudkin. When the contract is signed, a players value isn't generally as high as when there is interest from other clubs and the agent doesn't want a player trapped by an over-valuation by the club so they're often a lot lower than the players current value.

As I say, they're extremely annoying when you lose a player like Kante for a lot less than his value became or you have a Vardy to Arsenal saga but who foresaw us becoming champions and the players values becoming what they did but it's hardly Rudkin's fault.

If we're going to lay any blame at his door, it's when he fails to sign players by not offering enough or yes, putting in a release clause.

Spot on I was just going to say similar.

If we can't convince some kid playing at Birmingham City to come here without a release clause then we're doing something wrong.

Gray and his agent will have been aware that Mahrez and Albrighton were having great seasons and we were basically signing him to sit on the bench. Obviously he's not going to want to stay sitting on the bench but it's a possibility so of course he's going to insist on a release clause. He would have been foolish not to.

Jesus wept a bloke on Foxestalk with a brain and bringing some sense to the debate

bottom line is that the Agents now decide what goes into the contracts not the clubs and if you don't like it they take their player elsewhere. Yes you can barter to a certain extent but it is very limited. January window was a prime example where Agents wanted double what the players were worth in both transfer fee and wages so the club walked away

No your doing something wrong if you have no idea at all on how the world of transfers operates in the modern world

not saying I like it just saying that Agents have created a process whereby they have the upper hand. How clubs wrestle back control of the situation is the real question

Why relegation? Jumping to conclusions.

Mahrez is definitely a gonna and Gray unless guaranteed a starting spot and a bumper contract.

Realism needed here why not sign Knockheart player of the year in the championship deserves a chance in the prem.

Because your selling our best prospect and our best player and replacing them with championship standard players.

someone should tell whoever responsible for contracts that a BUY-OUT CLAUSE is supposed to be the king's' ransom not a charity:facepalm:

We need to borrow the DOF from Sporting for our contract dealings they seem to get huge buyout clauses attached to their players.
