NewEnglandFox Posted 30 March 2017 Posted 30 March 2017 Leicester ambassador Alan Birchenall will be back to watch his club in action for the first time since suffering a heart attack when Stoke visit the King Power Stadium on Saturday. It is expected that Birchenall, a hugely popular figure known as ‘The Birch’ at the club, will take up a seat in the directors’ box rather than return to his customary role by the touchline as he recovers to full health. Also with him as a guest will be Lisa Fereday, the nurse who revived Birchenall, 71, at the scene with chest compressions and four shocks of a defibrillator. She will be in the stands alongside her husband and their daughters as a sign of gratitude from Birchenall and the club. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4365056/Leicester-icon-Alan-Birchenall-watch-Stoke-game.html
MPH Posted 30 March 2017 Posted 30 March 2017 Expecting a big roar from the crowd when he takes his seat!
Craig Posted 30 March 2017 Posted 30 March 2017 Great news. They should also reward the Firefighter who helped save that guy's life during the Sevilla game with something similar.
dynamark Posted 30 March 2017 Posted 30 March 2017 Could do with another voice doing the intros - job for Marshy bearing in mind the upcoming game v a certain Spanish team.
StriderHiryu Posted 30 March 2017 Posted 30 March 2017 There need's to be a chant of "There's only one Alan Birchenall" sang at the game!
TheUltimateWinner Posted 30 March 2017 Posted 30 March 2017 Welcome home birch! Hope he gets a massive reception when he takes his place by the dugout.

BenTheFox Posted 30 March 2017 Posted 30 March 2017 Alan Birchenall is undoubtedly a club legend, if not THE club legend. Great to have him fit and fighting.

Wymsey Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 Nice to see him back, giving thumbs up to fans via director's box area. Had to leave early on medical advice. Was good listening on Radio Leicester post-match, referring Montsorrel as 'Montsorra'
