Vardinio'sCat Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 This Champions League lark is a bit serious, all of a sudden. Game set to be played on Wednesday. Thankfully only one player was hurt. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/apr/11/borussia-dortmund-explosion-team-bus
Vardinio'sCat Posted 11 April 2017 Author Posted 11 April 2017 Good to see the Monaco fans giving vocal support to Dortmund. The fact this happened away from the stadium is a blessing.
stripeyfox Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 Despite the inevitable overreaction on BT Sport (Paul Lambert wondering if the players will be able to resume their careers), it looks like a fairly low level incident. The bus doesn't even seem particularly damaged and one person has suffered minor injuries. It is correct to call the match off of course.

Three explosive charges detonating at the passage of a bus ain't exactly a "fairly low level incident". More like a failed terror attack. If it succeeded you'd very likely have the whole Borussia team dead with all the consequences it would imply. That's stuff you hear about in Bagdad, not in Höchsten, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. So please, spare us the understatements.

brucey Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 Round-ish hole made in the outer window layer. Only slight crack in the inner window layer, player's arm got cut by the glass from it Main body of the bus completely undamaged. Yeah, I'm definitely going with firecracker.

kushiro Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 Love this: Amid a worrying negative, a heartening positive: Borussia Dortmund are using twitter - and the hashtag #bedforawayfans - to encourage their supporters to put up Monaco fans who had been planning to return home tonight but now wish to stay to see the match tomorrow

dynamark Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 Religion is a huge problem because that is what drives all sorts of behaviour and some of it very extreme. I was at the Hospital recently and the reception seemed quite surprised when \I said non to the question what is your religion .I'm amazed its even a question when you are there for treatment should be a big sign over the entrance -no religion allowed in here.
tom27111 Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 German police have released images of their suspect. It's believed he will stop at nothing for his cause

Met her and her mate in the Counting House and a lovely evening was had by all. Well, nearly all. Probably me more than her. This remains the only occasion though when I have had sex with a visiting supporter so has to be considered an exceptional event.

I was in a hospital and asked what gender i was, I pulled out my nob, and they thought i needed a adult, WTF has my gender got to do with it, and calling me a child was just rude
