Mahrez to .......................?

We need to be keeping Mahrez - a good pre season and he will be back to his usual self.

What a talent?! Never thought I'd see a magical flair player like this wearing a Leicester shirt. Before Mahrez and Knockaert, Leicester haven't really had a true flair player - massive credit to Steve Walsh, Nigel Pearson, Shakey and Claudio for all cultivating this talent.

Think that Villa defence are still wondering where Mahrez went.

If silva is going to city for £70m, what is mahrez' value?

For a Ligue 1 side, certainly less than that. They'll want to invest part of that money in their academy and continue bringing young talent through the ranks.

I'd be surprised if we should see more than £40m splashed on Mahrez this summer.

They've will have just received over £120m? & the whole world should know this. European teams love bending English teams over a barrel with transfer fees. I'd expect at least £60m.

Based on last season, that'd have been my estimate, too. Sadly, I don't see how we're going to recuperate that amount after a rather lacklustre 2016/2017.

Would be shocking business to sell Mahrez to Monaco for €30m when they've just sold a similar player in silva to man city for €70lol

Well, yeah. But Manchester City have enormeous purchase power, dosh in abundance.

Btw, £40m is about 45 million Euro.

The transfer fee is also based on the player's age and younger prospects (Silva is three years younger than Mahrez) do usually command a higher asking price.

Monaco spent about £150m on Falcao, Rodriguez, Moutinho & Toulalan 3 years ago. They've got loads of money. If it was the other way round you know that Monaco would be rubbing their hands together expecting £10-15m more than his current value. It's ridiculous.

Try closer to £100m.

Still a lot of money, mind.

Just because they spent that much money on talent one summer/season doesn't mean they'll do so on a yearly basis.

In comparison, they spent a paltry £43m on new players at the start of the 16/17 season, most of it for Sidibé, Mendy and Glik.

€60m for Falcao, €45 for James Rodriguez and €30m for Moutinho.

43 million Euro for Falcao, 45 million for James, 25 million for Moutinho.

Falcao's transfer fee was never officially reported, was it?

Besides, what would make Mahrez worth more than Falcao or James?

The Falcao & James deals were over 3 seasons ago & he's better than Sissoko and Bolasie.

Bit unfair comparing Mahrez as a RM to Sissoko who is usually deployed as an attacking central midfielder. They occupy different roles on the pitch.

Bolasie cost Everton 29 million Euro, so £25m. Anything is still possible within the £25 to £40m bracket...

But you still haven't explained what makes you think Mahrez is worth more than Falcao or James (from an AS Monaco perspective).

But it's not just down to Monaco. They may value Mahrez at £25m but unfortuanlty it takes two teams to complete a deal. For example, Leicester wouldn't rate Troy Deeney at £35m but Watford do. It's about trying to find a middle ground. Also, Monaco were buying from a Portuguese club who may not have the money or resources to be able to turn it down. They received €70m for both Moutinho and James. The only reason we will sell is because Mahrez wants to leave, not because we have too. Also, Sissoko plays RM for Spurs & did so for Newcastle.

This source claims he has already signed to AS Monaco. Not sure about the legitimacy though

His arrival to be officially announced in the coming hours. I read from Son arrivée devrait être officialisée dans les prochaines heures  (my french a little rusty)

And that he's already signed a contract with Monaco from the previous paragraph. Seems BS to me surely this would have made bigger news sites. If somehow Monaco have managed to milk Man Citeh for 70m euros for Silva then I can see this possibly happening but not so quickly.

I think we will all miss Mahrez when/if he's gone and hope he stays. But if he does go to France then that would be easier to swallow than another premier league side.

Can see him going to Monaco, especially as this club has been mentioned on various websites linking him to the club and also Man City buying one of their best talents for a lump sum.
