Benguin Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Whilst I'm not fond of his views too much, I have come to learn why a lot of people will be voting labour this campaign so it could be very close. Think I'll be going conservative.
davieG Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 At the moment none of them. I had hoped there would be an independent candidate that i could find something worth voting for but there isn't so will probably spoil the ballot paper.

Captain... Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 No point voting anything other than red or Blue where I live, Greens arent even sending a candidate so as not to "split the progressive vote" so seeing as it is marginal labour seat I will be voting Labour, the incumbent Labour MP isn't a big media player despite being in the shadow cabinet and she voted Remain. I doubt many have heard of her on here, the closest she has come to fame/infamy is this clip from the last general election;
Lionator Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Was undecided when the election was called. Will be voting for Labour now.
David Guiza Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Labour. My local MP is Jeremy Wright (Conservative). Haven't seen/heard anything from him whatsoever, he was also Crabbe's campaign manager after Cameron resigned. An utter arse who will comfortably win the seat, unfortunately.

Izzy Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 My local MP is the Speaker of the House - John Bercow. Apparently it's 'custom' that the main parties don't stand against him, but the Lib Dems have broken the pact this time around. I think UKIP and the Green's might also put a candidate forward but I'm not sure. So for me and 78,000 others, that's the choice. All seems a bit of a waste of time for us in the Buckingham constituency really...
separator Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Tory... best of a bad bunch. I'm in Leicester West though so fully expect Kendall to be representing me in the new parliament
Brizzle Fox Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Labour have held my seat since 1935 so probably not much point bothering...

I'm in Bristol west but undecided on who to vote for - unfortunately all the main parties have something fairly significant putting me off them!

Indeed although the bookies do give the Tory candidate some chance at 2/1 on the basis there was a significant UKIP vote at the last election. Isn't Bristol West a big target for the greens? Between them and Labour

I know initially us Lib Dems were going to stand a candidate, then decided not to but sounds like we have gone ahead in the end. The local party wanted to put up a candidate but the national party didn't want to break the convention that the speaker isn't opposed. Those of us who support standing a candidate reckon that the speaker shouldn't have a constituency but be a separate entity. As things stand, the elected MP for Buckingham is supposed to be impartial on issues, which isn't very good for people from Buckingham who might actually want someone to represent them.
Jimothy Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Labour. I'm in Loughborough. Decent sized Tory majority of around 9000, but only switched from Labour in 2010. Pretty sure it'll stay Tory but if you want change and you don't vote because you assume the change won't happen you'll never get it.

To be fair Nicky Morgan is a decent local MP however national issues are more important for me.

Wymsey Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Probably go for Conservatives, but only just though. Like the other parties, they've got a lot to learn to win more of the population. All campaigns have been pretty disappointing so far, but have to admit I thought UKIP's has been alright so far.
