No. You're completely and utterly wrong there. A 2% swing would not have made it even. The result was Leave 51.89%, Remain 48.11%. So, a 2% swing would have meant a clear win for Remain, 50.11% v. 49.89%. 1

Guest Posted 11 June 2018 Posted 11 June 2018 (edited) I've seen a lot of talk that the tory remainer rebels don't want to vote against the government this week for fear of seeing TM brought down and replaced by a Brexiteer PM. Apparently they think they can force what they want when future Brexit vote take place, particularly as she's going for a soft Brexit. Risky strategy imo. Far too much calculation going on within all sides. Just vote for what you believe in. Edited 11 June 2018 by Guest

You probably had the numbers for the Customs Union amendment, fifteen Tories in all were said to be backing it according to the ST, fortunately for Brexiteers you also have Jeremy Corbyn who has killed that amendment dead and will instead present his own which obviously no Tory can vote for. (One because it's presented by the opposition front bench and secondly of course, because it's complete garbage than doesn't have a chance of being implementted anyway)
Guest Posted 11 June 2018 Posted 11 June 2018 Waiting for Webbo to spring to life and put up today's economic data as he often likes to do. Manufacturing down. Construction down. The pound down. Trade deficit up. Country on the road to nowhere under this government. Yet, exactly as I predicted after the election, the Tories are being forced into putting more money on to the NHS through weight of public opinion and will falsely try to claim they are able to do so because of the strength of the economy and the drive to reduce the deficit. Just wait for it in the coming weeks.

They had such a good thing going, the single market was bringing growth and prosperity for all and then they ****ed it up, a single currency that would impoverish parts of the South, interference on national government, deciding for a central court, migrant quotas etc etc To quote Mike from Breaking Bad - "We had a good thing, you stupid son of a bitch! We had Fring. We had a lab. We had everything we needed, and it all ran like clockwork. You could've shut your mouth, cooked and made as much money as you ever needed. It was perfect. But, no, you just had to blow it up. You and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man. If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now" They really did balls it up.

Weve stuffed up. We hide behind "sovereignty" as the reason. Sovereignty cant be quantified thankfully. All the things that can be quantified like forecasted growth, the customs plans, reductions in trade....they show we will be stuffed. Facts vs Feelings. Feelings won. Everyone suffers.

Can forecasts be quantified? They're educated guesses at best and the people making the guesses don't have a great track record.

And in fact it's not even feelings, more myth. As if anybody is going to FEEL any different not having the ECJ in the loop. It's nonsense. The whole thing is nonsense.
