I wrote about this on my personal blog today, would really appreciate any Foxes fans giving it a read and letting me know what they think our best line up would be ahead of the new season..

Check your transitions between sections.

You've provided lots of opinions... but offered little substance to reinforce these.

As a piece of writing, it possibly lacks an edge. It's very safe - and doesn't provide much in the way of a conclusion.

It might have been better to focus more on THE formation and team you think should be used on the opening day and build argument towards that.

Ugh.  Far too narrow...

This assumes Mahrez goes.

If Mahrez still here then would go

                    Kasper

Simpson  Maguire  Huth  Fuchs

           Drinky  Ndidi  Iborra

Marhez         Vardy       Iheanacho

-----------kasper

Simpson Maguire Huth Fuchs

Gray Drinkwater N'Didi Albrighton

------Ihenacho Vardy

is how I see us playing early on (if KI signs)

i sense CS is keen for 3-5-2 though, so if we sign our targets maybe:

-----------Kasper

-----Maguire Huth Gibson

Albrighton Iborra N'Didi Fuchs

--------mahrez/DD/GSiggy

------Ihenacho Vardy

which could be pretty immense if it clicked

I appreciate that feedback, i only intended to just highlight what we'd done in the window, a few potential ins and outs, and try put an XI together, it probably didn't need its own blog post for it

Thanks for replies, really appreciate it, interesting response, a lot of you seem to not want Morgan at the back. Vardy and Iheanacho up top together seems to be popular

Quite hard this. The only four definite starters I can think of are Kasper, Simpson , Ndidi and Vardy.

I agree, but if we play 3 at back and have wing backs, then I'm not sure Simpson would play as wing back, Albrighton would play there, he could maybe be one of the CBs but we now have Maguire so got 4 recognised CBs. But yes if we play 4 at back then all 4 of them would be starters.

Why would we buy Ihenacho - a proper striker - and then play him behind Vardy??? They've both got to start up front.

It's his ideal position.

Vardy prefers to play on the shoulder whereas Iheanacho drops into the hole to take the ball, making later runs into the box.

He's no Okazaki and no number 10, but he's not like Vardy. Like a false number 9.

I thought he was a proper striker - like a Van Nistelrooy / Lineker type - who just mainly revolves around the six yard box.

He hasn't been for Man City. Itching to see him play with Vardy, honestly think they could be brutal to play against. Both so difficult to mark and both are quite happy to run the channels.

Quite defensive against Arsenal until we unleash Gray or/and Mahrez  later in the match and switch to 4-4-2

                              Kasper

Simpson.  Maguire.   Huth.  Chillwell/Fuchs

We want Morgan at the back, but his back most probably won't allow it for the majority of games.

Currently I assume:

Simpson, Maguire, Huth, Fuchs

Gray, Ndidi, Drinkwater, Albrighton

Iheanacho,

Vardy

I'd hope Simpson, Huth and Gray are improved upon before then, tbh, but not the end of the world if they aren't.

If Gray does start, then for me it has to be at RW like you suggested.

He has no left foot, so I can see him being figured out very quickly by the opposition if he's playing LW.

However at RW, he could be a bit like Lloyd Dyer I suppose... Direct and crossing from the barline.

Albrighton is pretty one footed as well to be fair, I wish we weren't obsessed with playing him down the left.

Full backs get far too much time to recover and predict him because he cuts back in to his right every ****ing time.

But I guarantee that's where he starts the season.

Aye I don't think Albrighton & Gray would be a good pair to be honest.

Maybe Lawrence is more two footed/all round than Gray and might be a better fit at LW, so Albrighton can play RW. Clutching at straws though.

Reality is we need another winger, even if Mahrez stays imo.
