Mo Farah - wow.

What an incredible athlete. How the fvck he can literally sprint the last 600m of a 10,000 meter race is quite remarkable.

Heart was in my mouth when he [Farah] stumbled on the last lap - thought he was gonna go down!

Bolt has definitely been labouring a little in the middle section!

Some good stuff to come today as well:

Heptathlon

Mens Long Jump Final

Mens 100m Semi Finals and Final

Women's 1500m semi final

Love Track and Field, warts and all. It's a shame that the sport is blighted by doping but for me it is a great spectacle. When I started watching it as a kid I was struck by the simplicity of it - no complicated rules - just who can run fastest, jump or throw furthest.

Bet the Daily Mail love it!

The Mail themselves will - their readers not quite so much!

Most seem to hate the fact Farah dares to train in America and not live here...

Not fans of Murray/Froome/Hamilton and a whole host of golfers I guess who don't train in the UK.

Anyway whatever you think of the bloke there is no doubting his world class talent and one of our greatest ever.

I guess the drugs allegation is a legacy of the sport itself which won't go away but he hasn't failed one....

Had to be Gatlin.

He can **** off with that shush celebration though. He cheated and deserves all the stick he gets.

I feel a little saddened that though all those year's Bolt dominated and he eased off in the final 10 metres as he knew he had it. If he had gone flat out for the line the time's he could have put up.

Great atmosphere there tonight apart the drug cheat winning and one kid behind me who came out with this...

Katrina Johnson-Thompson must be quite tanned

:facepalm:shocking bit of causal racism

Did anybody else tonight just have that inevitable sad feeling that Bolt wasn't going to get that fairytale ending?

KJT again seemingly bottling it in at least one discipline.

Thanks Usain for the genuine once in a lifetime memories....Gatlin, go fvck yourself!

I felt he wouldn't win, he hadn't been running well all year. The fact Gatlin won, someone who I feel shouldn't be running having been banned twice just p*ssed me off more.

Such a shame Bolt couldn't win and to have Gatlin win made it all the more disappointing and raises questions over how many times someone can cheat and come back and take glory!.

While I would have preferred Bolt to get the golden send off his career deserved, I have to admit feeling a little bit happy for Gatlin. He's a supremely talented athlete who's finally found redemption within himself after wasting his peak years with a drug ban.

I understand why everyone hates him but when you realise that his first ban was a result of taking medication that he'd been using since childhood, it puts a different perspective on things. Especially when that is the reason most people wanted him banned for life. I think a 4 year ban for a first offence, which is essentially what it was, is fair. 4 years is a huge amount of time to be spent on the sidelines and it would normally destroy an athletes career. The only reason Gatlin is still going is because of his enormous talent. Any lesser athlete would have failed in their comeback attempt.

Yeah, it does appear there is a bit more to it than the "bad guy" narrative being peddled by the media.

I heard that he has cooperated with the authorities since his last ban and appears to have made great effort to make amends.

Gutted for Laura Muir, seemed to get stuck on the inside for a bit to long.

Could watch that Sophie Hitchon throw that hammer all day long.
