Better than when we won the Premier League?

Vardy and Iheanacho up front with Slimani and Okazaki as your options from the bench.

Albrighton and Mahrez on the wings with Gray from the bench

Drinkwater and Ndidi from midfield with Iborra and James as the options.

plus youngsters Barnes and Lawrence.....

Add a potentially solid defense and world class keeper.

5000-1.........?⚽️

Iheanacho > Okazaki

Slimani > Ulloa

James = Drinkwater

Ndidi < Kante

Maguire > Huth

Vardy and Kasper have improved with age

Fuchs, Morgan and Huth have got worse with age

It's only 250-1 now

Basically, is the downgrade of Kante compensated by the improvements elsewhere? We shall see.

We haven't got the best forward line in the Premier League.

We haven't got one of the best midfielders in the World either, which we did when we won the league.

I can tell you now the answer to that is 'no'. The guy is insane, it's almost unfair having him on your team.

Agree that he'll have a great season, I fear we'll lose him by the end of it though :(

Downgrade?

Ndidi is totally different type of player and an absolute beast.

The Kante love in needs to stop, he has gone, get over it.

I've always said Kante is overrated, however yes I feel it's currently a small downgrade, in terms of effectiveness to our play.

Ndidi is awesome and will develop to be an upgrade, but he's 20 and still learning at the moment.

Kante might be overrated but he covered a hell of a lot for us. He gave players like Mahrez the opportunity to go forward without worrying about the defensive side.

I've never seen anything like it here and probably won't do again.

If we keep Mahrez, have few injuries, and our players play consistently well, then yes we can  be looking at top 8 or even 5.

But doubtful all the big teams will have dire seasons, as they did 2 years ago.

On paper yes, but then on paper Man City, Chelsea, arsenal...etc were all better than us

6 other teams won't fvck up this season.

All have maangers that have had their 'bedding in' period and they've mostly spent a lot of money.

Of course, that guarantees nothing, but we won't have the perfect storm of 2 years ago.

Taking nothing away from our achievements, of course.

James = Drinkwater

Why do people keep saying this? What has James done his career that's anywhere near Drinkwater in 2015/16 and the first half of last season?

Just personal opinions, feel free to agree or disagree. Some people still think Ulloa > Slimani and that's their opinion, fair enough.

The proof is in the pudding when the season starts.

Who fvcked up when we won the title? Chelsea, yeh. Who else? Tottenham and Arsenal performed better than usual, Man Utd were the same as they have been every season since Fergie left, Man City are inconsistent from season to season and didn't really do particularly badly and Liverpool have finished out of the top 4 more often than not over the past 10 years.

The fact is we no longer have Kante and he makes the difference of about 5 league places. In addition, our manager is not tactically astute nor does he inspire. These are the main differences from our title winning season, the other stuff is minor. It largely doesn't matter what other teams do. Had the players had a bit more self belief instead of believing the 'perfect storm' nonsense we wouldn't have finished in the bottom half last season.
