This chap has worked tirelessly on getting it in this country. He has been in dialogue with UFS for years, we thanked him earlier.

That’s the guy I got down the Counting House with his roadshow before Posh (h) first game of the season in about 2011

Yeah big time. Worked relentlessly and in the face of hostility from our club to him over the years.

Back of G1, SK1, P, P1, L1, K1, right at the back of the kop, and the back of the away end. (From what I can see)

It's confusing that they've published two different maps

It just looks like an easy way for the club to allow the fans that currently stand to continue to do so but at the same time they will now be able to crack down on anyone who stands outside of or slightly below those areas.

Every decision this club makes it gets wrong ffs.

I'm trying to get my head around the clubs logic for dotting SS all over the place. Maybe they're trying to do it so it creates an atmosphere in more parts of the stadium?

My guess is you'll have P/P1 singing one thing, L1/K1 singing something else, G1/SK1 singing something else, and then the back of SK2/3/4 singing something else - just feels all a bit disjointed.

Why couldn't we do what Southampton did and have a 'wall of noise' (lol) with SS across the whole of the South Stand?

Adding up the total number of SS 'seats' it's 3032 home and 2532 away.

Because no doubt they saw pockets of standers and didn't want anymore.

They had to do the bare minimum so thats what they did...like we all said they would.  No doubt if it wasnt for the SGSA they probably wouldn't have done anything at all.

Nothing will change it won't help the atmosphere, same old same old.

Thought the same would of been so much better having the south stand as a whole as a standing section.

Ideally. it would have been/will be the whole Kop end and the whole of L1 and K1.

UFS's wording suggesting its a good 'start' is giving me a glimmer of hope that there's more to come in the future.

The back 3 or 4 rows of the Kop stand away right? I have a feeling a few more rows will want to stand now.

The common sense solution is to quickly install more safe standing ‘seats’ but I have a feeling the club will spend more (than additional bars) on stewarding making people sit down.

On the upside, the new ops director has came across well from what I’ve read - seems a bit more proactive.

Spin slightly the other way, they have no data which tells them people actually want it more than the 4K also places which will be made.

That’s the harsh end of it.

So if they only think 4k want it...then put the 4k in one area. At least try and get the benefit of safe standing by not thinly spreading everyone around the stadium lol

Awful implementation of something that should be an easy win

The logic has been driven by several factors with the results of the survey being one of the key ones.

  • The largest amount of safe standing positions have been created where the largest demand was indicated in the survey
  • However within the survey results there were fans in SK1 that still wanted to sit
  • The numbers in SK2 - SK4 who wanted to stand was quite low and nothing like the numbers in L1

However only 1,850 fans completed the survey, the club publicised the survey in many different ways and we posted on here encouraging posters to complete the survey. If the response level had been much higher with fans stating they wanted to stand, then more safe standing positions would have been introduced this summer. The actual demand experienced over the coming weeks will determine if any area is further expanded for 26/27 (subject to sight lines)

The club hope they can facilitate swaps of ST holders who want to sit and move down to a seated area, with someone moving in the opposite direction who now wants to stand within the same block

It was interesting to read Jon's observations on social media about what was happening with our club on safe standing this season

“Good to see a club giving fans the chance to see a selection of different safe standing options and feed their thoughts into the decision-making process.

Can't think of any other club that has gone to such lengths to get supporters' views in advance of making a final decision.”

Total contrast to that display at the Counting House all those years ago, when the club refused to send a representative. (Jon sent invites & the Trust asked for someone to attend)

It's everything I expected. Half arsed, won't really achieve a great deal and came absolutely years after it should've happened anyway to the point I've basically lost interest in it.

Pyrrhic victory. They've conceded virtually nothing but can say they have. It couldn't have gone more how I expected.

Southampton

Theres works though and crowd noise puts ours to shame

The earlier post regarding pockets of SS was spot on.

A woke manufactured SS in SK1 away from away fans so not to offend is a joke.

L1 have largely given up as had the gig removed, SK1 is hardly audible

All looks and sounds pathetic outside of those areas

one song in unison ffs

But then went to all that length and stuck the cheapest most short term barrier in.

So,  for all the moans about the club not consulting/communicating with fans,  when fans are given plenty of opportunuty to give their views on a subject,  that would appear reading these pages, was dear to their hearts,  only around 7% can be bothered.

Sorry, where did the first map come from? I'm in G1 and based on second map (one on website) looks like i won't be in safe standing as not whole back row covered.

I am a little annoyed by this.  Maybe unnecessarily,  time will tell.  My concern as a member is that we will not be able to get a 2 tickets together in a standing area, as they are small areas and may be filled with ST holders (fair enough ST holders can choose where they are located) before i get my chance to buy a ticket.  I will not sit at football.  Never have, never will. Im assuming there will now be a gestapo style clampdown on standing in seated areas, like the front of sk1 will be.  If thats the case i simply wont go.  It may seem a small thing to many but standing is a big thing when watching football, for me.  Sitting just doesnt feel right and i dont enjoy it as much.

I did do the survey and also spoke to the people on the stall near the club shop before one of the games and gave my opinion as well as mentioning safe standing in every questionaire the club sent about the match day experience, so i did what i could.  Im amazed that more people didnt do the survey...why?????  it took literally less time than it does to post a moan on social media!!

Are you lower than UFS?

Did you get an email saying you will be in the rail seats?

No im back row. So first pic would indicate I'd be in whereas second I'd be just outside safe standing.  I've had no email therefore assuming not. Just wondered where original pic came from.

If back row in G then you will have a rail.
