The club’s owners are fiercely ambitious and a man with Ancelotti’s CV would fit the bill in that respect, yet it is understood that the Italian has no interest in the Leicester post and is determined to take a break from management until the end of the season after losing his job at Bayern Munich last month.

Well, going by anagrams...

Alan Pardew:

Please no. This would be a debacle.

Yes, getting one of the top managers in the world would just ruin everything...especially our chances at getting in the Championship League.

Promise him the signings of Jeff Schlupp and Nicky Maynard, and he will change his mind for sure.

Why?

A better question is why do people think  he would fit at Leicester, but I am happy to answer.

He has little interest in the details, aka modern football, where you seek to extract advantages everywhere you can -- training, nutrition, scouting, etc.

He is a historical league underperformer, winning what, 4 league titles in 20+ years of managing some of the most elite clubs in the world? That speaks to an inability to motivate, which is our PRECISE problem at the moment. And the league is everything in England.

He has enjoyed success by being strong tactically, and by relying on his elite players to be self-motivated and allow their talent to outshine their competition. We cannot do that here, we do not have the talent.

What would he even do without the best roster in the league? We have no idea. He has not managed a club at Leicester's level since his first job over 20 years ago.

Ancelotti has also never expressed any interest in managing at this level in England. Leicester needs someone who can build the club, not someone looking to leave in a season for a better offer. We don't need a manager who will be poached by a side with superior talent and Champion's League football next season. That just isn't where we are.

Ancelotti has never even managed a squad in a relegation battle, as he almost always has enjoyed dominant talent. Winning with the most talent in the league is not the same thing as winning with lesser talent.

Ancelotti is much more a cup specialist than a league manager. We need league results, not CL experience.

After Pep, the players at Bayern we're shocked by his lack of preparation and the absence of oversight of club details. If we hired Ancelotti, he would be given absolute power, and as he would not have one of the elite squads in the league, we would wind up with a less fit, less prepared version of what we have now.

Again, why would anyone think Ancelotti would be a good fit here? All he brings is prestige. That is all well and good, but go watch Bayern's match against PSG. That is what prestige without modern methods of running a club get you. That is what being hands- off re your players and their training gets you.

Ancelotti is a great manager in many ways. But he is not a proven club builder. We can get managers who have built clubs into successful Prem sides. We need someone with the energy and enthusiasm to oversee the evolution of the club. We need someone who wants to be here. We don't need Ancelotti, and he doesn't need us.

He should be angling for the USMNT job, he lives over in Canada now anyhow.

Though if you think I am.missing some merits, I would like to hear them.
