Wymsey Posted 3 November 2017 Posted 3 November 2017 Joe Mattock wasn't really all that on the pitch, despite some believing that he's probably have a decent career like his peer Andy King.

At times, yes - although his best years were at Chelsea. I didn't comment on his ability, more the unfortunate reputation for own goals which blighted him during his time at City, together with the 1999 League Cup final ticket disgrace, the shameful events at Heathrow in 2001 and although later acquitted, the La Manga incident.
Soar Fox Posted 3 November 2017 Posted 3 November 2017 Ben Mee’s tackle on Adel Taarabt at Loftus Road was a joy to behold.

desertfox2 Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 Most of the 07/08 bunch. Kind of puts things in to perspective. 10 years ago we were just about to get relegated to league 1. Megson had just left for Bolton and we were a few weeks away from Holloway joining. Time flies...
Wolfox Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 Ah... the memories! It just makes you appreciate where we are now all the more (although you wouldn’t believe it from half the posts on FT!) I have watched some really dreadful players in my time Back on topic... Matt Mills was the most disappointing, if only his ability matched his ego? Nicky Mohan was quite sh’t from memory...

Looked horrific at the time but to his credit he carried on and did alright (in his own way) with tissue paper stuck up his nostrils. He also did ok on one occasion as a makeshift centre-back when someone got an injury. Other than that, he was rubbish. Well according to the article he is a centre back so maybe that was the problem....... Nah just kiddin, he was shit!

Rob1742 Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 Lamey - signed him on the back of a pre-season gave v Sunderland. Actually looked excellent that game. Unfortunately that was the pinacle of his career. Gregor Stevens - think I bobbed my pants every time the ball came into our half. Luckily we off loaded him quickly, as I was running out of underpants. Jimmy Willis - absolute horrendous debut, lost us a goal or two, got booed off and Brian Little had to sub him and send him on loan. Decent player, awful debut. Steve Thompson - think he played one game for us. Awful, fat slow. Binned straight away. Alan Evans - similar to Thompson if I recall. Excellent defender for Villa 456 years earlier. Well past his sell by date. Lasted a game or two. Rob Johnson / Tony Spearing - two similar players. How they made it I will never know. Full backs, and limited at that. Old fashioned full backs that did bugger all and couldn’t get a game in a decent position.
filthyfox Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 If memory serves, Kisnorbo wasn't very good when he first came..... then he was actually quite effectI've. KISNOOOOOOOOOOOORBO
sk3since03 Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 He was terrible I liked Greg Cunningham at that time though! Unfortunate what happened to him while here.

Had his age been a pub quiz question, I would've guessed 33-35 by now. "Yeah, I remember him. Sh*t, he was". He was so slow I'd have guessed he was 35 when he played for us.
Chico1958 Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 Perhaps todays not the right day to be talking defenders
