He would have given us another option so I can see why we were looking, I feel like this was before we confirmed the Dragovic loan, he provided RB cover and so we didn't need another RB.

 

I guess when dealing with a free agent you can sound them out without having to commit to anything, whereas signing from a club is a longer process once a fee is agreed and accepted then you are fully committed to buying the new player and it is in the player's hands. As a free agent it is always in the buying club's hands.

Especially when you look at the way we want to play....  Puel is looking for a defender who can overlap a bit.... Sagna would be reaching for his inhaler at half time....

Glad we didn't sign him. Wouldn't want to be pay over the odds wages for a 34 year old. Much keener to bring in someone younger. From Fuchs, Wes, Huth, Simpson to Chilwell, Maguire, Dragovic, Amartey we've aready cut the average age down massively.
