Bear with me on this one.

Our atmosphere at the KP is just appalling at the moment.

My brother yesterday asked the question, do we have the least fans standing at home games in the Premier League.

Looking around, I had to admit, as a proportion of the amount of fans, we have very few standing.

Whether  you are for or against standing at games, it is clear that those fans standing TEND to be the ones prepared to sing and chant.

Yesterday I was embarrassed by the fact that a reduced section of away fans created more noise than the Leicester Fans.

I have said on here many times before that I go and watch live football for many reasons. Not only do I like watching football, I enjoy the craic with my friends and I've slways enjoyed the atmosphere especially when it is loud and vociferous.

STAND UP AND SING YOU LAZY BUGGERS! ??

Oh, by the way, I'm 57 with very dodgy knees, one of which is an artificial knee after surgery 3 years ago and I manage to stand!

I await the Brickbats.

P.S.

L1- what happened to you lot? you used to be able to shut up the away fans.

SK1 - no matter how loud you think you are, very rarely can you be heard down near the away fans.

I'm part of a small group that stand at the back of the family stand near the away fans, ( I moved there a few years ago from the L block as we were sick of the stupid drum we had to stand near).

EDIT- just thought I'd add an edit here after a couple have pointed out the irony of the fact that I posted about 'noise' but moved because of the 'noise' of the drum.

Yes, the 'noise' of the drum was annoying, we were literally a couple of seats from it. But it was more the fact it was unnecessary. The L1 was developing a loud vociferous section that battled for a number of seasons to be able to stand, sing and counter the atmosphere created by the away fans. The drum was a tinpot idea.

We're like any ground without a proper main stand. I can name you plenty of sides that only have a number of people standing.

Anyway who gives a fvck. Wow you can stand, other people don't want to. When I go away I'll stand if I can but at home games I sit.

Home atmosphere's are poor everywhere. Last side I was impressed with was Huddersfield. TV broadcoasters build up grounds yet when I go they're quiet - Palace being the best example of that.

? No, I moved because of the 'stupid drum', meaning I thought the drum was a tin pot idea. Shouldn't need a drum playing in your ear to create an atmosphere.

But if it suits your retort, then okay, yeah, I didn't  like the 'noise' of the drum, I preferred to hear the fans singing and chanting, which they did perfectly well in the L block when we first moved in there, WITHOUT the drum!

I’m far more embarrassed about the fact we couldn’t beat Stoke than I am about the fact that someone that sits next to the away fans can’t hear the rest of the ground.

Why are YOU embarrassed that we can't beat Stoke? The players should be embarrassed by that. For example, it wasn't your fault that Puel picked an underperforming Matty James.

The thing supporters can do though is try to create an atmosphere.

As I have stated before, I love watching football, but I go to live games for the whole experience. The atmosphere side of that experience is shocking at the moment.

Because we should be beating sides that look like getting relegated. You’ve moved by choice to the family stand and complain there’s no atmosphere. I sit near the front of SK1 and they always sound like they’re enjoying themselves at the back.

Why I can't be doing with the UFS, their drummer is annoying and half the time just is drumming for no reason. You don't need a drummer to create a atmosphere either.

The atmosphere situation needs needs sorting out though, everyone saying the UFS are doing a wonderful job must be on drugs. The atmosphere is at a all time low. I think it time to start a new group with no Ultra side to it but who want to just improve the atmosphere side of things. It needs to happen in SK1 still but with none of the ultra shite that comes with the UFS.

Come on now Hugo we have been over this before haven't we?

The vendetta you have is clear and the 'Ultras' line you play out is unfounded.

You posted pretty much the same post yesterday and got little response from it.

Shame again you choose to come on here and have a pop at UFS instead of having a chat in the ground. If it offends you so much why not go and speak with the guys, you are in SK1 clearly close to where they stand.

I like the drum in SK1, I think Liam (if he still does it) does a great job. It certainly makes me want to sing more than the clackers do anyway. I’d love to stand but I’m in the middle of SK1.

We really need to step up the atmosphere next Saturday. Very poor performance on the pitch from the lads and a very poor effort from our fans.

Oh yes , one person trying to confront 20 ultras  I'm trying to help improve the atmosphere not start a argument or a fight.

But I will applaud the UFS on the bags of confetti yesterday. That was a good idea and I liked to see more of that and before people think I'm having a pop at them for no reason. I have donated many times in the past to the UFS.

Why can't people do what they want when they go to a football match?

I've been a season ticket holder for 10+ years and I don't stand, and rarely sing.

So what?

I think some people have a very definite idea of what being a 'proper' fan constitutes.

Then do something about it.

start your own atmospheric club with chest thumping chanting champions. Can’t do any harm can it?

Fvck it, I’m gonna start my own.

Right I’m calling it errr TGS.

Go for it pal. Genuinely.

In fact, would advise anyone elsewhere in the ground who cares about the atmosphere to actually mob up and get organised. N Block, L1, wherever. If you seriously care, stick your neck out like UFS have done and actually try to improve things.

I'm all up-"standing" for more noise and louder atmosphere. But being someone who is vertically-challenged (5'5"), I wouldn't exactly be able to see if we were all literally standing. Don't really pay season-ticket prices to stare at the back of someone's head. ?

Who cares! Some people like noise some don't,  it's purely subjective. Those who sit down and enjoy watching their football quietly without feeling the need to yawp or sing the same old songs sang in nearly every ground in the country are perfectly entitled to and are no lesser a supporter than those that do. As for me I'm reasonably quiet but prone to apoplectic terets like yesterday!

Hang your head in shame, some on hear would ban you for saying that. lol

Yesterday Stoke outsung the entire ground all game despite what one or two on here will tell you, that's coming from the middle of SK2, never heard a peep out of the corner to my right all game.

30-odd going for it in SK1 all game, but they don't have a prayer if 30,000 others aren't interested.
