You find London boring? There’s something for everyone. As the famous whoever said - when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life

That man had clearly never lived in the borough of Brent

Anyone tried the volley at Old Street? Thought it'd be a bit cringe but really liked it. Just stopped for one, had their Volley lager. Group of Germans in the corner watching St Pauli too. Decent lineup of beers too.

Admittedly only been twice and both occasions were in December but the Bath Inn, Nottingham is always heaving. Great decor though

Holy Tavern might be worth a look too mate, I've been a few times and had some average bevs but also some good bevs! But it's a quirky gaff

It's not Farringdon but definitely mentioned it in here, Queens Head on Acton St near Kings Cross is phenomenal, not been for a year or so but Redemption Trinity was £3.60 on my last visit which wasn't a special price either

Out around King's Cross yesterday evening after work's Christmas do. Scottish Stores, King Charles and a new'un ticked off with Mabel's Tavern.

Crunchy peanut butter stout from Hammerton brewery at the King Charles was the pick. Love that place but never seen it so rammed.

Literally strolled into this thread to ask for pub recommendations around St Pancras/King Cross area for some drinks (a code word for a date,  I do not have guts to say that word to the woman I am meeting up with 😅) and hey ho you lot have delivered once again!

Which pub would work best as a date venue do you reckon?

The Lamb was the location of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes' first date, so things can only get better...

Poretti in Gatwick.

My next pint,  actually numerous pints will be in Prague over the next 3 days as I say goodbye to the Conferance league.

I've got my eyes on the Blueberry and Cherry Honey Wine on sale in the Christmas markets.......

King Charles a bit too "old man" vibes I reckon, maybe the Scottish Stores. Cosy atmosphere but could feasibly pass as a date venue without overtly coming across as one.

@The Blur Lord John Russell can be quite cozy and plays old pop songs which appeals to my sensibility but not everyone. You could bond over 90s classics. Plus you could go to Judd opposite before hand and stroll in with some Zweig novel or something similar under your arm, which I can tell you from experience never fails.

Had a skinful in London yesterday. Started off at The Hole in the Wall Waterloo, which was great value. Two pints of Vocation Bread and Butter for under a 10er. I do find the cask doesn't hit as well down in London though without a sparkler. There's also two great pubs hidden away round the corner off Roupell street next to Waterloo. The Kings Arms and The White Hart. I didn't go into either but the beer selection looked good and they're traditional pubs on a nice road. Next up was Craft Beer Co Farringdon which was a bit lacking on the cask front, and was very expensive on the keg front. Even the barman was warning us off buying standard session IPAs at £9/10 a pint. Nice, solid pub though and managed to find something a bit more reasonable. Then I had a few in the Eagle Farringdon which seems to be a food led pub, but had good options on Cask and Keg. Had some Five Points and Kernal. Then went to Machan Kitchen for a Sri Lankan and was so pissed at this point that I couldn't give any objective review on the food. Then had a final pint in the Farringdon spoons after

Kings Arms on Roupell Street is a beautiful pub. Bit expensive and the ale is hit and miss but it is very aesthetically pleasing and with a vibrant atmosphere.

Quite a nice road Rouppell Street isn't it. Feels completely out of place. I remember reading years back that it was saved by the local residents from redevelopment.
