Yeah I went to the Navi’s beer festival and whenever I walk into Barrow always stop in for a pint. Saw it’s having a bit of a refurb so hope it’s a light touch.

I’ve not been into the Woodies for a while, very Cotton Traders last time I went in, overdue a visit.

Where do you watch football

on TV locally (if you ever do)?

yeah I think they are just changing the carpets.

I don't go out to watch football on TV much, but if I did it would be Soar Bridge or Three Crowns. What about you?

Three Crowns used to be great for the football but it's never been the same since the previous tenant went and it turned into a Desi Pub. I think a lot of the old crowd now go to the Conservative Club in Barrow to watch the football. Have you tried the Working Men's Club in Sorrel? I assume they show the football

I went in there once, admittedly quite late on a Saturday but it was busy-ish, asked for a pint

“Are you a member?”

”No, can I become one?”

”No”

Genuinely lol

Young's Original at the Betjeman Arms, St Pancras.

A better pint than I remember but I wish they'd put Harvey's Sussex Best back on in there.

A bit chainy but aesthetically a beautiful pub and I love sitting outside and listening to that very specific sound of the Eurostar trains departing to Paris.

Yeah, I can think of a dozen other places within five minites' walk that are better, but it's not bad really (especially if you're not paying).

Sorry to be a blockhead but I cannot master the search function in order to search for pub recommendations in Loughborough town centre in this topic.

So...any recommendations folks?

It would be awesome if there is some sort of running posts with pub recommendations in  villages/towns/cities to save trawling through pages.

I know there is likes of European Beer Guide or Untapped but I would just forget about them after downloading the apps and I like reading about personalised recommendations on here too.

Organ Grinder, White Hart are good

The rest middling to crap imo.

yeah White Hart and Organ Grinder are the best.

Needle and Pin is a decent micro pub and Swan in the Rushes is okay.

That Everards by the White Hart had a decent front room iirc.

Three Nuns - nicely decorated but had a few slightly off pints there in the past.

The White Hart is great but it’s always so LOUD in there

They were charging £9.95 for a pint of Camden hells at the O2 last night. Worst part is folk were actually paying it.

Christ.

Almost a tenner for British brewed beer.

People have no cut off limit at events for drinking, they'll pay £20 for a pint that's 50% water. Euro 2016 was quality because at the games I went to there was no alcohol served, although my friend did say if we drank enough 6.95 euro 0.1% Heinekens we'd eventually get hammered
