I've had some really good takeaways from Everest Dine but never sat down for a meal there

I was shocked, it was really really nice when I ate in there. The place looked like it'd seen better days and they were very short staffed, I was worried when we sat down, but I couldn't fault the food.

Paddy’s marten inn is so overrated.

Plenty of decent places that you wouldn't think of going to. There’s a sports bar in Oadby which is very very good, there’s the old rifle butts which has now moved to east park road railway working men’s club, or Himalaya at the crown hills pub.

The clowes arms is supposed to be nice on portsmouth road but not had the chance to try it yet.

Agree with Mumbia Inn, been there a few times, decent. Had a really nice creamy Himalayan dish in there last time, well nice.

Jamals are the bottom of Narb Road is good, bring your own beer aswell.

Namaste on Hinkley Road is allways decent.

Basically there's loads just go on trip advisor.

There use to be,a modern type Advent guard,Pakistan Restaurant on the apex and corner of

Lougborough-melton road(old petrol Station).

Locals swarmed about it,2-4 yrs ago. I must say when I want back to Leicester,I visited

twice, with wife and one of my daughters. We were pleasantly suprised,at decour, the

Choice, and then quality of food.sorry cant remember the Name.

I hope its still in business, the young Pakistani/Indian Generation, seemed to love it.

So that sold it to me!! They did the classical, plus delibrate modern twists.

Still my go-to place if I'm back home but my mate swears by Shagorika now. Been meaning to try the place that used to be The Bell too.

The Cinnamon Lounge. I live 2 mins away but never been ! I’ve heard it’s very good. Shagorika was great years ago, then went downhill, when l walk past it’s empty now.

Different how?

It's south Indian, so different flavours, they use cream and coconut alot more and rice dishes are more prevalent.  Kayal is a good restaurant, try it.

Having been to south India, it's still far from the best I've tried

Currently in the Lansdowne pub near the train station and the barman recommended the Kayal which is just down the road, might give it a try ?

Yeah I can imagine there are much nicer places out in actual southern India but I still really enjoyed it.

I had some kind of fish curry wrapped in leaves and it was delicious.

I’m pretty sure they had a serious case of food poisoning there a few years back. Contaminated curry leaves, iirc.
