Best curry house in the city centre ?

Coming up from Cornwall to watch the Newcastle match and looking to savour a delicious curry on the Friday night, any recommendations would be appreciated. Cheers folks ?

Not been to one in the city centre apart from lilu which is abit different that was amazing though. Interested for answers as might visit one Saturday night.

The best curry house I've been to recently is Chettinad on London Road - in between Sainsburys & Dominoes Pizza.

 

South Indian.  The restaurant itself is bang average, but the food is amazing.  Flavours I've never tasted before.  Most curry houses are much of muchness, but this place is different gravy (literally)

 

Been a few times now, so I know it wasn't just a one-off.

yes! Most of us are friendly people

There’s a decent one in Mkt Harborough, The Royal Bengal. It’s pretty popular, has a bit of competition locally, but it’s always busy.

Had a menu from some place on Narborough road put through the door the other day with curry pizzas on it, it piqued my interest because they sound simultaneously fantastic and disgusting. Will report back, W.

Switched to going here instead of The Curry House when up London Road in recent years. Always found it agreeable.

Martyn Inn. Martyn street. Just off catherine st. Get yourself a short taxi ride down there.

 

Doesn't look much, bit like eating in pub with transport cafe furniture but the food is faultless in my expirence.

I've only been to the one in Hinckley, but apparently the Leicester one is award-winning so I can only imagine the quality is consistent. Brilliant Indian and Nepalese, well worth the visit in my opinion.

Still my go-to place if I'm back home but my mate swears by Shagorika now. Been meaning to try the place that used to be The Bell too.
