ROOSTER....

Think I was more upset when him and oooh Tommy Wright left at the end of that season, than I was when Kante left.

Then again, I was only 14 at the time!

Yes, to me every member of the title winning squad that played a significant part should be remembered as legends, some bigger legends than others but all legends in their own right for the part they played. Being a legend isn't just about length of time at a club, it's about achievements whilst there.

Some legends are bigger ones than others. He was a huge part in us winning the league, so of course he is. Doesn't mean he's on the same level as other legends, like Vardy or past ones who were here for decades and contributed so much like Walsh (to some).

Sorry to correct you Babs but he was the smallest part in our title winning side lol lol lol lol

Great player in a Leicester shirt, but one season doesn't make him a legend.

It does if in that one season he was one of the main reasons why the club was able to achieve its greatest success ever.

No

Whilst he may be a recent legend to those fortunate to not go that far back IMO hes no more of a 'legend' than any of the side/squad that won the league.

The play offs and what the players achieved under MON deserves legend status given the quality of other sides and resources

I actually think we have looked unsettled without Huth and he deserves a mention.

The league wining squad played out of their skins for each other and maximized what qualities they had/have. Makes whats happening now even more sad and baffling

Everyone who got a Premier League winners medal that season is a legend.  Every single beautiful one of 'em and people saying they are not really must not see any beauty in the world.  Every Leicester fan and most neutrals will be able to list off our main starting 11 that season for as long as football exists.  What happened that season will become legendary.  Every player is, by definition, a legend.

I love you wee N'Golo, I love all of you.

One of our best 3 players in our greatest ever team. Of course he's a legend. Some people have cambiasso down as a legend and he did nowhere near as much as kante. Short lived perhaps but in a way that means there's nothing but good memories.

You'll never agree because as I keep saying it's personal, so many things can define someone as a legend to any individual.

It's probably why we've never as a group of fans come to a unanimous decision on who should have statue, there are so many options due to individual preferences.

The term "legend" means different things to different people. Imo, it comes down to... Performance, longevity, and loyalty. whilst Kante was putting up consistent 8/10s, he's lacking massively in the period of time here and loyalty. I don't consider Cambiasso to be a club legend FWIW.

Not at all.

He was at least as big a part of our title win and neither have done much for us since.

I class all the team who won the title as "legends" - even Simpson but not the same type of legends as Banks or Shilts or Wortho or Walshie or Elliot or many other Leicester "Legends".

I think at the moment only Vardy of the "team of legends" moves into the legend status independently. Vardy is about more than the football.

I strongly disagree with this point and you and I know that he did a lot more. 1 championship title, 2 relegation fights, and CL. Kante was only here for the sweet.

But the rest I agree. Only Vardy is at the top, or let us say mount Rushmore of the club. Mahrez ruined his chances by being naive and attempting a stupid maneuver whilst in the weak position

He’s one of the best players ever to play for us but legend? No, the likes of Steve Walsh and Gary Lineker are true Leicester legends,Kante never reached that legendary status for me.

So do u feel that rainieri isn’t a legend for achieving the impossible,as his contribution is no more significant than the players,Walsh and lineker are legends but we achieved more that season than them two players combined achieved for us throughout there careers

Yeah probably, but I won't deny myself a wry smile if he never plays in a champions league quarter final or beyond having left us for a supposed better opportunity.

I think he’d prefer the second league title he won. It’s not like we won the thing.

He goes down as a legend to me as, contrary to what the media troll out ( and some of our fans) about us being worked out, if he'd have stayed we'd have come close to winning it again. That's how perfect we were, all replacements including Ndidi haven't come close. He didn't just win it and give it ( like Ndidi) , he scampered forwards for 25 yards quickly then gave it to Mahrez or Albrighton where they're dangerous, in the last third. Our wingers now receive it too far back too often if at all these days.

League titles are massive obviously but all the top players want those big champions league nights, Kante no exception. I bare no ill will to the bloke but if he never gets further than we did in the CL then there will be a pleasant degree of justice to it.
