Gerard Posted 11 May 2018 Posted 11 May 2018 Ndidi is our first choice midfielder and then we have: 1) Silva 2) Iborra 3) James 4) Choudhury 5) King 6) Mendy 7) Amartey So that's six or seven players looking to be Ndidi's partner. If we buy another central midfielder he'll have to be a cut above anything we have or don't bother or at least ship out at least three of the current squad. 1

It's questionable whether James will be retained, after all his injury woes. King's fate is still out in the open, he may come back, he may be loaned out again or picked up by another Premier League or a Championship side. Mendy hasn't played an awful lot at Nice and even though he knows Puel from back in France, it's questionable whether he'll ever wear an LCFC shirt again. Amartey could do a trick at right-back. In any case, I think we'd have to look at adding at least one more (experienced) central midfielder in the summer.
Clever Fox Posted 11 May 2018 Posted 11 May 2018 If he's a Beast I'd get him in otherwise forget him in. We need a Beast to protect our young players.

SheppyFox Posted 11 May 2018 Posted 11 May 2018 Yes on the condition king & james & mendy are permanently sold. 2

SheppyFox Posted 5 June 2018 Posted 5 June 2018 (edited) We’ve been linked again I think The report goes onto state that Leicester City are also interested in signing the box-to-box midfielder this summer. Ndiaye provided three assists and scored one goal in 17 Turkish Super Lig appearances prior to his move to the Premier League. The Senegal international went onto play 13 Premier League games for the Potters. Edited 5 June 2018 by SheppyFox
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 5 June 2018 Posted 5 June 2018 Maybe in case someone comes in with a huge offer for Wilf?
OhYesNdidi Posted 5 June 2018 Posted 5 June 2018 (edited) Very much in the 'Idrissa Gueye' mould. Would be a decent pick up for any mid table premier league side. He's made 4.1 tackles per game last season, Ndidi made 4.2 & Gueye was making 3.5. He's more mobile than James, King & Iborra. I can only see this being a possibility if hamza were to leave, as he seems to be puels preferred replacement for Ndidi when he's been injured. hes a little bit more box to box (like Kante was for us) rather than like Ndidi is more of a stay at home defensive midfielder. Puel's 4-2-3-1 requires two holding mids to cover raiding full backs and only 2CBS. We only really have Wilf and possibly Choudury and Amartey as squad players that fit that mould. We definitely do need to trim this squad though. 7 or 8 need to go.
Katy Posted 5 June 2018 Posted 5 June 2018 Why don’t we sign all of Stoke’s first team and be done with it ?

I don't think that I've ever seen anyone with 16,000 posts and only 63 rep points. Can that be right? If so that is outstanding work! One post in 274 gets a thumbs up. Genuinely impressed. I'd give you another but I don't want to mess with your ratio. 1 1
