lol are you kidding?

Have you seen how much stick Costa gets pretty much every match?

Have you seen all the shite El Clasico gets now because of the diving and play-acting?!

Er, by who? Twitter?

I’ve never seen that once from a television personality.

Spain grinding away. It was a good game really, high tension which is what you're looking for in World Cups, they've had the most exciting couple of games so far and were tested in both and come out in very good shape. Gotta be at least the second favourite to win the competition at the moment and with the Real Madrid core they know how to get through dramatic, high pressure tournament football.

I've seen more mentioned about Spain's tiki taka than their 'game management' as mentioned earlier in the thread, I just cant feel comfortable with players like Biscuits & Alba coming out rosy because they beat a team trying everything and anything to beat them. I like what Iran tried to do, they know their limitations and they give everything for everything, thats why I liked Greece so much in Euros and World Cups, they give everything they've got.

Evra's just mouthed that last line a moment after I wrote it lol Guess I'm a tit too then

That's up there as one of the greatest World Cup moments along with that Zaire guy who broke off the wall and booted the ball away when it was a Brazil free kick.

A true footballing hero. If they're not your second team after this, what are you playing at?

Some of the worst cheating at the WC so far, a 640 formation, fans with more vuvuzelas than a South African ultra group and one of the worst human rights records at the tournament.

Yeah, what's not to cheer for?

I actually enjoyed the 8-1-1 formation and attempted shithousery, proper piss taking. That's what the group stages are about - minnows trying to wind up big sides, watching abysmal fixtures at stupid times of the day, England fans declaring it won after one unconvincing win against a mediocre side.

I'm all for an underdog but I draw the line at eleven men in the box from open play and goalkeepers diving untouched.

I'm all for Mexico, Peru, Iceland etc but Iran can get in the sea.

I really don't know why this got so much attention. It's not even close to being as odd or funny as the Zaire guy.

I mean, the flip throw was a fad a few years ago when it was proven to sometimes be effective.

I'm sure I watched a documentary before the last World Cup where the Zaire guy said he did it deliberately in protest.

His face during the incident suggests otherwise to me. I prefer to believe the protest story has been propagated since and he genuinely had no idea what he was doing. It's much funnier for me that way.

Not sure about protest but I'm sure I'd read it was out of desperation. Their crazy dictator threatening them and their families if they lost by more than 3 to Brazil or something similar
