 The coil itself is the other side of where you would be, ahem, bashing  It's basically a bit of plastic that's inserted into the womb with a couple of threads attached so it can be removed. Nobody feels it, it's great. I can honestly say it changed my life, my only regret is not having one fitted years earlier than I did
