Ricardo has looked excellent. Madness.

Don't forget, we were all still extremely high on being Champions of England. It was very easy for us all to look at those signings and not realise that each of them was kinda what we wanted, not really what we needed. We broke our transfer record 3 times in one window no less, with our head scout already gone and our most important player departed too.

This time around there's no euphoria hangover; mainly discontent from the dreadful run last season. We've identified our weaknesses and strengthened in every area of the pitch we needed to. I have a very good feeling, personally.

The good things is we've bought a lot of young players. If they all develop along with our existing youngsters, we have bright future.

Would have liked to have seen a few more sold. The squad is too big.

If we had brought in a winger with a decent pedigree I would’ve said 10/10.

not a fan of Claude tbh but can clearly see his vision and what he trying to do. If it don’t come off we’ve still massively strengthened.

The squad has never been in better shape and it’s littered with young talent.

ive got really weird feeling we’re gonna get something tonight.

Evolution not Revolution

Veins sur Leicester! ?? ??

I think it's been a strange window. On the one hand, we signed Evans, Maddison and Pereira early - all three of which look excellent signings on paper. We've then bolstered our defence further with two young, very promising CBs to sort us for the next few years. We've done pretty well with the Musa and Mahrez fees and probably done our best to ship the deadwood from previous summers.

On the other hand, we splashed out a ridiculous amount on Ward and signed Ghezzal who's a big risk - not necessarily money wise but in terms of ability. We've done so many things right this window, but then it's like we've let someone else in the club have a go at signing players.

All in all, I'm happy with our business this summer but I'm concerned we've left ourselves light on the wings and maybe a striker short - assuming both Ulloa and Slimani leave. We're placing a lot of faith in Gray finally becoming the player we hoped he would and Maddison to step up immediately.

Time will tell.

When all is said and done, there will always be some ifs and buts. However, I'm not sure many of us could have foreseen so many good buys happening, and even if Puel fails, he has given the next manager a lot of talent to work with. I really hope he succeeds, though we may need to be patient this season...

I voted...

Happy.... but i wouldve preffered a "not unhappy" option, as i think we couldve done better

Evans as best signing, based on a return on investment THIS year... Think he will be a gret part of our backline... next would be Maddison, but think hes a longer term return.

Musa out was best deal, given his results here, i never expected to get our money back

Evolution, Hopefully we will see the perfect balance of speed and pressure mixed with quality possession

Lets get this thing started!! :)

Now with all these posts ,leaning towards the positive.....

We dont go Sacking the manager, because Individuals scrape the barrel looking for the negatives, and any excuse to attacking Puel.

If its a catostrophy, then he does take the Flak.

If its medicrocy...time for bedding in is needed,so get off his back.

If and only if,we are struggling in the bottom 4,with absolutely no outlook than he or another

Manager should be questioned ,  or backing @Col city fan use of vocabulary,if dire and turgid

are constant weekly game  companions,Theres nowhere for him to hide or go.

We need to get off this wheel of silly abuse, and sometimes Quite pathetic repetetent criticism

of our manager. Yes also IMO he has a lot of good to make up,but I suggested since his appointment,

he would need till November- Xmas this season, just to see if he could Start a New Generation of

Players,style and ethos.

So that what it is a Start, last season he had a Mandate,to initiate change, but keep us in top 10,

top 6 would of been gravy!!

Also dumb IMO,is the critic on Team selection in the 2 Cups defeats,

our Teams and players,Were competing against top 4 sides, with some Frings players who are still

Title and WCup experienced. Plus Evers single one of our had delivered top performances beforhand.

So Team selection like Every week, was a "matter of opinion" selection  and not a pathetic base of critic, because

of the managers intaptitude....one side of this forum would of gone the same way....

AS the post During gameweek actually shown, demanding this or that group of players.

Posters trying to make a story , issue or leeway of it today, leans to egoist single-mindness

Other Teams,Were better than us even if a big Chance went a begging...thats football, accept it and move on.

The only strange transfer was Ward for 12 million. Seems odd to me that one, but if he provides genuine competition for Schmeichel then it's a good thing I suppose. Regardless though, it's an awful lot of money for a keeper who isn't going to be number 1.

We've invested in young players, Evans being the exception but he adds much needed experience.

The thing I find somewhat surprising is the amount of attention our transfers have received as in no one seems to giving us any!

While Fulham, Wolves, Everton and West Ham have been splashing the cash, we ourselves have reportedly spent over £100million (balanced somewhat by the sale of Riyad) but we've done so in bringing in understated players. Nothing flash, no real big names, but we've improves in areas that needed it most.

Not finding a replacement for Mahrez - we'll see whether or not that's going to hurt us over the next few weeks/months.

This is now Puels team. The excuse of the players having to adapt to his style is now gone. Is Maddison the missing link? Will the addition of Pereira improve our forward play, potentially leave us more exposed at the back?

We come out and play how we did between January and April then he'll be looking for a new job before October is out. Come out and play how we did in the last 2 games of the season then we could be in for a good season.

I'm really not sure if I should be excited or nervous. Part of me says we could be challenging to break into the the top 6/7 part of me says we could be in a dog fight at the bottom.

Yes I'm happy(ish) with our transfer business. I think Maddison is a good signing but I think Evans will be solid for us, especially if we're looking to play a possession game. My only negative is Mahrez is worth more than £60m so I voted Musa as best business, especially considering I didn't think we'd get more than £10m for him.

I have belief in Puel as I have done since his time here. I do believe it will be a "revolution" - different type of football, players that can play football and younger players coming onto the first team scene - but I also think all this won't be implemented successfully in only a season. These things take time.

Agree with everything! Apart from my blip in belief after the Palace match

I thought we'd had a solid window before deadline day. The signings of Benkovic and Soyuncu take it onto a new level as it really re-affirms the outlook on youth with two highly coveted youngsters through the door in the central defence position, where the most reinforcement was needed.

The message certainly seems to be "build from the back" and I always think that that is a wise thing to do!

Would've been nice if we could've got Soyuncu/Ghezzal in earlier to see what they could offer in preseason, especially seeing as Evans seems unfit and Maguire is unavailable. With a lack of options out wide it will be interesting to see how we line up later tonight*, I think it's going to be a rotating 3 behind the front man.

I think Maddison looks like he could be the pick of the bunch based on what we've seen so far, Ricardo was also much needed at RB and I'm hoping that Evans still has it. Ghezzal and Ward seem like strange signings but lets hope that they can offer something. I would have perhaps preferred a bit more of a 'proven' winger at this level instead of Ghezzal but we will just have to see how it pans out. Apart from that, I just wish we could've moved on a few more. The European window is still open and so I'm hoping we can ship out Benny at any cost, I would've also preferred to see Slim move permanently, even if that meant taking a loss on him (I think that's inevitable now).

Overall it was a good window and I'm hoping that a couple of them might go onto overachieve.

I'd give it an 8/10.  Good to see the defence sorted, as well as other signings.  Hopefully this is just part of the 'journey' rather than the end of transfers / development.  It will be interesting to see how the squad and team shape up - and then if any tinkering is needed  in January.  Up the City!

I think this is the best window we have had in a long time! Nearly every area has been upgraded that has actually needed to be done! At the same time certain players are leaving that we don’t need!

If if we had got in a too quality winger in it would have been 10/10 but who knows maybe Ghezzal is that or or Gray/diabate step up!

I am excited for the season to start ?

Here's hoping - don't get too down if we don't go off like a bomb.

I don’t expect us too! I think 9-12 would be a good season it’s a re-building season, slowly slowly lol

I want us to compete and try to build attacks and retain possession - harder for the opponents to score that way.

I am happy with the business we have done but it feels we could have done a little bit more and maybe got a marquee signing but overall I am really happy
