Good window, extremely happy about our business except I would have ideally liked a more consistent winger, but it's fine nevertheless. Our issue last season was conceding goals, we e basically revamped our entire defence.

Yes I'm happy(ish) with our transfer business. I think Maddison is a good signing but I think Evans will be solid for us, especially if we're looking to play a possession game. My only negative is Mahrez is worth more than £60m so I voted Musa as best business, especially considering I didn't think we'd get more than £10m for him.

I have belief in Puel as I have done since his time here. I do believe it will be a "revolution" - different type of football, players that can play football and younger players coming onto the first team scene - but I also think all this won't be implemented successfully in only a season. These things take time.

We have rebuilt the weak defence, got competition for Kasper, Replaced Mahrez with Ghezzal and Maddison effectively. Maddison looks quality and for me personally I think its been one of the best transfer windows in a long time.

Remember we have kept Ndidi, Maguire, Kasper, Vardy ect and the likes of Iborra and silva looked alot better in pre season than last term. I think we will be ok this season and probably do better than alot of FT seem to think. Lets hope

Been a very good window imho. A solid 7/10.*

Positives

Some very good players brought in in key positions

Kept hold of Maguire

Significantly strengthened the defence

Bought in some pace and youth

Finally have a proper number 10

Negatives

A few more departures would have been good

Another proven striker would have been great

Perhaps another right winger and a left back

However, realistically no club gets exactly who they want in and out so overall I think Rudders and co have done well this time. I think a fair few clubs will be looking at our business with a tinge of jealousy.

* obviously only time will tell, we'll not know until next transfer window at the earliest but in terms of where we needed to strengthen I think we've done a good job.

I remember when a lot of people were happy with our business in the summer of 2016 and turned out to be a disaster.

Maddison to be the only one to turn out as a good signing imo.

Comments and answers to questions:

1.) No

Feel we're short of quality in the central midfield and manager areas. Would have liked the centre backs signed earlier so they could have been integrated / developed in pre-season.

2.) Maddison

It's hard not to like what we've seen so far and be excited about the prospect of seeing him play week in week out. One worry however, is he a little light weight, considering he might be targeted by the opposition for some rough and tumble play?

3.) Mahrez

Allowing him to move on could prove to be better for the club long term than had we kept him another season. Having to manage the constant speculation was clearly a drain on the clubs attention. It now provides the platform for a player within the squad to step up and be the clubs hero, so there's lots of positives that can be taken from this transfer asides from the fee.

4.) Merde

I still have question marks over whether Puel is bold enough to be a successful manager here. Cases in point are the Man City and Chelsea cup games where a bolder approach could well have translating to cup success.

Clearly the first few games of the season will be key in revealing what the future holds for the manager and club. That Manchester United appear to have a disjointed camp and atmosphere makes me less apprehensive about our opening game than I might have been - however, the nagging feeling remains that Puel may well go cautious rather than bold in his selection and that this could end up triggering a chain of events that makes the season more 'merde' than 'magnifqui'

The way I'm looking at this window....

Gk. We've improved the squad by adding a better 2nd choice than what we had.

RB. We've improved the first team by adding a far superior RB than what we had.

CB. We've VASTLY improved  both the squad AND the first team by adding 3 quality players to the position.

No.10. We have improved the first team with Maddison being an improvement on what we had.

Strikers. We are the same as we were last year, no better,no worse.

LB. We are the same as we were last year,no better,no worse.

CM. You could MAYBE argue that we are ever so slightly stronger than last year as a squad because we have King and Mendy back but we've certainly not added more quality to the starting CM's.

Wingers. No denying that we are weaker as a squad and starting 11 on the wing. Lost Mahrez and replaced him with a pound shop Mahrez.

On a whole I think we done OK. We DEFINATELY added quality but not in all the positions we needed it. One more winger away from a great transfer window.

We will be harder to beat than we were last year but I don't see us scoring or creating as much either. UNLESS we utilize what we have to the maximum and play 3 at the back with WB's and Maddison behind nacho and vardy but I just don't see Puel doing that to be honest.

6/10 I'd rate this window.

Good window. Lots of great signings with a look to the future, the only issue is being the winger situation where we look a bit light (sorted with 3ATB). Over 100 mill spent and we have recouped 75m plus Ulloa fee so very good business. Well done macia and rudders!

With Maddison and Kelechi I think we'll be playing through the middle a lot more so there's less reliance on the wingers as we'd never have got anyone remotely as good as Mahrez,

What I love is the age of the players coming in - removing Evans (too good a deal to pass up, but obviously only a 2-3 season player) the average age was just over 23. That speaks to a vision, developing a core squad whom play together for years, and not the slapdash hole-plugging exercise by a retread hoping to cling onto the job for a few seasons.

This is a lot of conjecture, but to me Puel strikes me as someone who'd rather die on principle then bend to save his own skin. He has his way and now we'll see how it works.

Very happy with the window. We've actually signed a few players that will go straight into the first team. So for that I think this is a great window. Time will tell but looks great so far. A really decent winger and a bit more for Mahrez and it would have been perfect.

Really think Maddison could be the signing of the summer. Ricardo and maybe soy at CB (not trying to write his name) to all go in the 1st 11

Starting 11 of:

                 Kasper

          Soy Maguire Evans

Ricardo                             Chilwell

           Ndidi. Silva/Ibora

                 Maddison

             Kelechi Vardy

That side should take some beating

Ah Oui!

I love Maddison but I think the guy from Freiburg will be outstanding. He's worked his way up and already looks decent, I just think he's going to have a desire and edge to keep working at his game.

We got mugged on Mahrez but Musa compensated for it.

The future's bright.

Importantly we haven’t lost the likes of Kasper, Harry, Vincent, Wilf, Demarai etc - despite the rumours. Losing Mahrez was always going to happen. Looks like the club correctly identified areas which needed improvement - particularly in defence and number 10, though maybe we couldn’t get the winger we wanted.

Equally important, the club identified players surplus to requirements - virtually the same players as identified on here.

Getting our money back for Musa was a real bonus.

All in all, a very good window - positive thoughts from me on Puel, Rudkin and the owners

Could have been a lot worse if the new cbs didn’t sign and we got an injury leaving Benny as first choice . Great to keep maguire and it’s good to see the owners sticking to what they say. The big teams can no longer buy us or other teams into selling our best players with the amount of money you get from being in the prem. nice to see that utd could just throw money at us or anyone to get what they want. Think we will finish 8th this season  Man City it Liverpool to win it close finish

What I really like about this window is that we seem pro-active rather than re-active. The two deals at the end mean (of course if both players adapt well etc.) we have contigencies in place in case Maguire does leave. In the last few transfer windows we seem to have lacked that initiative.

How we deal with the Mahrez loss is going to be our biggest test this year. Maddison I think will be a big player for us.

Generally, we have evolved the team. We have far more ball players in the squad than this time last year. This will aid Puel and his style.

All in all, a good window.

Amazes me that some Posters are still worried about some type of Mahrez replacement....

Our style and approach, will now automatically change...

Plus we have 3 players who have played along both flanks ( wingers) ,and Been responsible in getting

into crossing positions....

Plus 19 other Teams, havent had a Mahrez equivilant in these last few seasons, and they got on with life.

Mahrez is now history, put his like to bed.....a New hero will arise. Let wait, enjoy and see who takes up

the creative Batton, will it be one or 2-3 players...Will this New squad make us see that They have no need

Of the Mahrez ghost...
