We have gone from - 10 more years, 10 more years Jamie Vardy, 10 more years, 10 more years I say, 10 more years, 10 more years Jamie Vardy, playing football the Enzo way - to:

Just retire, Just retire Jamie Vardy, Just retire, Just retire I say, Just retire, Just retire Jamie Vardy, Top don't deserve you anyway:unsure:

Have you seen his wife? And specifically her court bills? Absolutely no chance he can afford to retire.

If he's got any sense he'll be straight to Saudi in the summer.

Half want him to hang up the boots before we actually go down. He doesn't deserve this at all. How is he playing 92 minutes week in, week out?

The term 'playing' is a bit of a stretch.

Appreciate everything hes done for us but its like playing with 10 men now.

Absolutely zero chance he goes to Saudi, as the other poster said, he's got plenty of money don't you worry about that. IF he does want to continue, he'll be off to the states. Mrs Vardy would fit right in there as long as Dennis Wise moves with them

Not sure why he's being singled out. I watched Daka mince around with the touch of a nonce for the whole game. Useless.

Because it's the Vardy thread.

Check the Daka thread for Daka criticism.

Pretty simple when you think about it.

Because you said it's "like playing with 10 men" insinuating he's the issue. I'd say we're currently playing like we've got zero men in blue. Nothing to do with what thread we're talking about.

Love him but we have to think with our heads on this one, we can't be paying him 130k a week or w/e he is on, happy for him to stay and be on 20-40 and be a bit part next season but anything more than that is unreal. I bet he is getting paid more than the highest earners at Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham etc etc.

He's got to go at the end of the season. It's no good harping on about the past, the brutal truth is that he's now too old. He's been the best player we've ever had imo. But it's time to end it.

He probably is too old. In fact, he's almost certainly too old to be playing as much as he is. From what I've seen, he's still got enough going for him to be a fine impact sub or occasional starter for at least a lower mid-table side, but obviously we shouldn't be asking things of him which we didn't 3 or 4 years ago.

But that's where we are. And unless people are deluded enough to believe that a youth team player, or Daka, or Edouard would be an upgrade, he's clearly going to have to keep on doing it. And frankly, if you think that any striker would have much of a chance in this team and with this set up, that'd be the most deluded thing of all. The seven goals he's got are quite an achievement.

Some people have taken great pleasure (while claiming not to, of course) for the past 6-7 years in saying he's past it. Eventually they'll be correct, if they aren't already. But the idea that we're playing with ten men because of him, and that the rest of our team would be doing a whole lot better if it weren't for Vardy is - as it has been for several years - clearly well wide of the mark.

Despite the pundits constantly pointing out that his is a borderline impossible job given the lack of support - something which seems painfully clear when you see him attempting to lead an uncoordinated press, or with no man within 30 yards of him - he may well be one of a hefty series of problems, but he isn't 'the' problem, by far. That's far too complimentary to the rest of them, and far too harsh on him. For me, people should stop saying silly things because they're upset and fancy pissing everyone else off too.

Just wish he retired on a high and hung them up end of last season. Best player to ever wear the shirt, doesn't deserve to be associated with this useless group. Seen he has been getting some heat for missing a few chances, the guy is nearly 40 years of age playing in arguably the best league in the world with no support feeding off scraps. Yes he would have liked to take a few and maybe with more confidence he would have, but won't be getting any slander from me and I imagine the majority of the fanbase.

The guy is a legend and if he is to bow out in May, it is such a shame that this squad will be his last. But think either way it should be, financially doesn't make sense giving him another year. It is the boards fault yet again for not replacing him or even providing him with any competition for so long. He has carried us, not his fault.

Feel any criticism after the weekend is harsh, he's obviously not the player he was but our only 2 good moments of the game were from him running in behind and forcing a save out of Onana and him putting a chance on a plate for Buonanotte. Alot of Championship teams are poor and I'd back him to still reach 10 goals next season even with him being heavily rotated.

Yeh I think Vards knows now is the tine to say goodbye and farewell. I hope he comes over here to the US. Would love to see him in the MLS. Be great if our local team the San Jose earthquakes put in a bid but I doubt they would get him. Vards is still blockbuster. Maybe inter Miami with all their cash or one of the LA teams?

He's still our best striker.

He doesn't deserve criticism for being picked, for playing too many minutes or not being replaced. That's all the clubs fault.

@adejo92 who is our best striker?

I'm not saying Vardy is anywhere near the levels he was, but you can't deny that expecting him to be our only form of attack is setting him up to fail. Especially playing the full 90+ minutes each game.

Probably his last season with us ending with relegation, won't surpass Owen's tally and may not even get to 200 club goals. Sad all round

He's not the first legend here to end his last season with relegation.

Hope he stays next season, definitely still got it in him  but not for 90 mins every game, just shows how bad our back ups are. As a pundit said the other week, might even of been Albrighton, I've never seen a striker cross the ball to himself, alluding to the non existent service he's had all season

He does look broken that this team have virtually given up, did anyone notice during the break in play on Sunday he couldn't resist tapping the ball in the net to give the crowd a 'goal' to cheer about. Pure banter 😆

Indeed. I was gutted when Alan Rogers left in 2004.

Has to be my TFC!

When he scores against US teams,  rips off his shirt revealing a Canadian flag painted on  his chest (in support of the commonwealth) and telling the yanks to fook off lol.

Or ripping off his shirt revealing trumps face whilst giving the wanka hand gesture lol

Wont happen will it?
