Last game I remember watching was vs Colombia and I was animated and pacing up and down. 

However, watched with a Swiss friend who was amazed that I wanted Colombia to equalise so Vardy gets on the pitch and potential glory.

Just looking at the top scorers now Salah’s goals have dried up and it’s such a shame he’s been injured for so long, as the rate he was going, he’d probably be top scorer and on the path for another golden boot without injury this season.

This again just goes to show imo how criminally underrated he is, boils my blood. Kane is what 28/29 and has a few golden boots and an Audi trophy to show for it.

Paul Scholes is so overrated these days.

 

Never known another player who was a good player but barely mentioned as  genuinely great all his career all of a sudden get get retrospectively given god status towards the end of his career.

 

He was never in the same league as Gerrard and Lampard and that was widely understood in their primes. It was also widely understood that Keane and Beckham were the best and most important 2 players of that treble winning ManUtd midfield at the time as well, not Scholes or Giggs.

 

Xavi made one quote in about 2010-ish about ManUtd being his favourite English side and Scholes being his favourite player growing up and almost overnight people retrospectively elevated Scholes to twice the player he actually was and to one of the greatest midfielders ever.

Alan Shearer has one trophy in his entire career and is 2nd? Its the greatest players not the greatest teams. Anyone who seriously thinks Harry Kane isnt a world class footballer has delusions of grandeur. His goal contributions season after season are unreal, even more remarkable that its in a team that doesnt win trophies like you mentioned.

Kane is a top class player no shadow of a doubt, one of the best strikers in the world on his day, I do think he could look back on his career and regret it in the sense that he could end up retiring not having won a major honour for club or country. 

 

I just think with what Vardy has won personally it's a farce that he is not in that list. 

 

Just my opinion.

Scholes was best of the lot by a mile; ran midfield for United 

 

think if you takeaway pens he also has same goal record as lampard despite playing about 15-yards deeper

Any news on whether he’ll make Roma? There was talk he might make the bench vs Newcastle but then everything went quiet. Really would be a massive boost if he was fit for the run in and Europe
