Do you not think what is happening on the pitch and around the club have an affect on the atmosphere ie I feel the atmosphere has lifted noticeably since Brendan arrived.

As for things the fans do ,with approximately 29000 folks, different ages/sex/ demographics the factors will always dictate that pockets and elements will do stuff that irks others, that's life.

There's some very sensitive people that get easily embarrassed and I for one don't give a rats ass about what fans of other clubs may think of us.

I agree with that but I Puel never had the backing of most fans anyway, which goes back to my initial post slating our "support" because during Puel's reign he never got support. It annoys me when people don't make noise all game and the only thing they do is boo. I read some daft / unfair things when Puel was here including "Levein/Holloway would have this squad top 6" but I'm guessing when we don't make to 6 next season Rodgers won't get the same criticism.

We've got some class academy players who dont have a song at all ('he's one of our own 'shouldn't count either)

Players like maddison too, he'd lap it up!

Our away support has received a lot of mentions in this thread (and rightly so in my opinion), but I think one of the reasons for the huge decline is because the song book has stagnated. There's a direct correlation between the two.

In the early stages of 2014/15 for example, we had the Ulloa chant and our away ends benefited because of it - the 0-1 win at Stoke springs to mind.

The large periods of silence at away games comes partly from the fact that people just aren't arsed - but also largely from the fact that people simply don't know what to sing anymore.

I firmly belive that if we pulled 3 or 4 top quality original chants together, our volume away from home would improve drastically.

Look at Liverpool, songs like Allez Allez Allez became the soundtrack of their Champions League run last season and it all started from a few ordinary blokes putting some effort into finding a tune and then some decent lyrics to match.

We, meanwhile, have three hugely promising English talents in our side and sing 'He's one of our own' for every single one of them. It's dire.

Getting a group of likeminded people together and being creative with tunes and lyrics that haven't hit the Premier League yet would go a long way to changing things, in my opinion.

The Dusty Springfield Filbert Street effort for my money is one of the best songs in the country and barely anybody sings it.

We have that already.

Songs are there being sung it’s just not being latched onto by the wider support.

It'd be great if everyone sung that and eventually that was the song to be played before kick off at home games.

That's a given, I personally am a back the lads whatever during a game, sadly and probably due to the title win, we have far too many fans with unrealistic and entitled attitudes.

I agree, and too many turning up waiting to be aroused, rather than being part of the arousing.

Sorry, couldn’t think of a better word to explain what I was trying to get at.

It died when we couldn’t replace EI EI EI O when we got promoted. That was a crowd pleaser and everyone got involved. We also used to sing it about 50 ****ing times a half, which I don’t mind, at least we were singing something.

It was quite embarrassing at the time - when Preki's name was first mentioned somewhere being the club's next manager, and as a result a thread on this possibility was massive and many posters were in disbelief that it could be true that he was set to become the new manager..

The stupid accents that British commentators feel the need to affect when pronouncing foreign names.

****ing outrageous.

And the inconsistencies in being arsed lol

Will go through the effort of saying Aden Azarr but fail to pronounce Anthony Ker-knock-art

Changing Kante to Conte when he joined Chelsea just because it was their manager's name.

Disclaimer: Conte is probably right lol

I think the opposite is true, Dan.

He was, in the main, called KON TAY when he played for us - and that's the pronunciation he gave the media.

When he joined Chelsea and played under Conte, commentators started calling him KAN TAY to differentiate.

Pronunciations are always a controversial subject.

eg KdB at MCFC is De Brunyer rather than De Broiner but if you go against what people usually hear, they think you're getting it wrong.

Yeah - speaking personally I just don't get aroused so easily these days.

It's probably my age...

The owners got some right shit on there didn’t they. It’s as if they’ve cured the big C nowadays so it’s weird to read!

I think most were happy to support Puel.

Some of the things he did were good like the stepping up of young players.

The biggest issue for me was his boring negative style of defensive football particularly at home, it was really crap to watch.

The Palace game was really the nail in his coffin, that was everything he got wrong here. Being defensive but not actually being very good at defending.
