Not enough to be a proper rivalry but all of them believe we 'stole' their chance at the title. Used to quite like them before that but absolutely hate them now. Never liked Spurs. Wembley way '99 stands out for me as a child attending that game and it went off massively. I can deal with blokes wanting to fight each other, leave them to it. Just dont hit women like they did or do it around children.
Sharmania Posted 4 June 2019 Posted 4 June 2019 "But they've never won the Premier League" about teams who've won the top tier about 15 times.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 June 2019 Posted 4 June 2019 Hey fricking Jude! It's dirge, it doesn't raise spirits and what is more, has no connection to the club whatsoever. It was introduced by Martin Allen, probably one of our worst managers ever. No mention of the Poznan yet? Maybe because that seems to have had it's day and is dying out.

Everybody and their dog knows we won the league - the story's been done to death, and consequently it's stale. To persist with chants/songs like this just confirms others' prejudices about us. It would be funnier, fresher and more original if we didn't go on about it or at least be a bit more self-deprecating about it. Bit these qualities seem to have largely deserted our fan-base since 2016. Shame really. We used to be quite funny, believe it or not. It was the point, because they added the bit about clubs with more titles than us. They were saying it was embarrassing because it's factually wrong. It's not. I get tired of hearing "but they have won the league" about that song. It's irrelevant. If they were just saying the song is embarrassing full stop, I'd agree it's not the point. I don't disagree with anything else you wrote. I also happen to think that it's stale, arrogant and unfunny. Anyway, it's only supposed to wind up the opposition fans, and I'm sure it works, because they must know deep down they will never experience what we have.

I doubt it's been directed at Liverpool or Man Utd., has it? The fans you're saying that to aren't going to be singing about a league title they won before any of them were born, are they? And it's highly unlikely they'll see the day their team wins it again. Any chant that needs clarification or an explanation or quantifying is by default terrible. "Yeah they have been but they'll never sing it again" to explain the chant emphasises this. 1 hour ago, UniFox21 said: People who refer to our away fans as embarrassing due to them not fitting what they class as "decent" away support. It's only going to get worse. I've said it in another thread but the players are partially to blame by giving their shirts away, it only feeds the frenzy.

Yeah, but the brilliant thing ( or one of them) about us winning the league is that it gives fans of other clubs hope that - just maybe - they MIGHT win it themselves one day. My point is that persisting with that witless incantation kind of craps on that side of it,

Maybe less so now that we've done it!

RutlanderFox Posted 4 June 2019 Posted 4 June 2019 Our lack of creativity with chants. Surely we can up with something better than “ooo Jamie Vardy”, “Schmeichel, Schmeichel, Schmeichel” and “Wesley Morgan is a blue” for three of our greatest ever players! Also using the same chant over and over again like “he’s one of our own” (as someone mentioned earlier in the thread) and “Wes Wes Morgan/Marc Albrighton”. I also cannot help but feel that other fan bases would’ve come up with a respectable chant about the best season in their club’s history than “champions of England you’ll never sing that”.

There's a girl who must be about 12 in the Family Stand who has a different sign every match and pushes her way to the front. When she doesn't get anything she gets proper angry. Had the misfortune of being near that vlogger at Huddersfield. He spent the whole ****ing match talking into his phone and producing false over the top reactions every time we got anywhere close to their penalty area.

Such a shame as there are plenty of efforts that get going but the vast majority don't want to know and they never spread. And then bizzarly those that try and sing new chants get the tag of 'elitist' and 'sing their own stuff'. Literally can't win.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 4 June 2019 Posted 4 June 2019 Our fans singing 'Champions of England, you'll never sing that' to teams that have won it more times than us

RonnieTodger Posted 4 June 2019 Posted 4 June 2019 Our shit fanbase is getting a well deserved hiding here. Even some of our more vocal fans are embarrassing though. I remember being in Plaza Mayor and a group were singing **** the IRA At least the ridiculous Gibraltar chant was (almost) topical.

I don’t disagree with you particularly, but at least they’re singing something and making a noise. I’d rather that than the increasing number sitting in silence. Each to their own and all that but I’d hate to see us turn into another Goodison.
Dan Posted 4 June 2019 Posted 4 June 2019 Clappers. I just can't abide them. I get that they coincided with our best ever season (which sadly means if we do ever shift them we'd probably have them back for bigger occasions) but I just can't get on board with them at all. They aren't the definition of ferocious and passionate support, they're effectively a sign that we can't actually be arsed. The introduction of them has only in the long term made this more and more true as well. Add in that they sound rubbish. Not for me. Never will be. If we'd never had them and Derby brought them in we'd all sneer at them and we all know it.

Yeah was a massive fan of 10 German bombers in the square the night before the Brugge game. Thankfully the day of the game the idiots seemed to get drowned out by the majority. And for me. That whole day impressed me but apparently that's for another thread

There's a certain section of our fanbase who just seem desperate to be loved by Rangers supporters. It's weird. As for the Gibraltar flag with the word 'BREXIT' on it - Gibraltar voted 96% Remain in 2016. I'm all for keeping politics well out of LCFC. It doesn't suit us.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 4 June 2019 Posted 4 June 2019 The fans that think they are superior/ ultra types, critical of support/ songs pretty much everything about us. I personally wish they'd p*ss off and support another club that aren't embarassing and sing and dance, to only acceptable songs, to their hearts content with the fan type of their choice that is allowed to follow that team.
