I fcuking love WSY when sung in the stands, but can't stand this bland "acoustic version" sung by a poundshop Noel Gallagher. The tempo of the song is all wrong for pre match. Proper downer of a tune, bland, generic, "open mic" $hite which would be more apt at a funeral as the coffin is being lowered.

Reminds me of the dross you'd hear during a "breakup scene" on a 90's US teen sitcom like Dawson's Creek. Identity my ar$e. If you need an example of the right type of vibe you want pre match, look no further to Chelsea and the Liquidator.

Should be filed in the same cabinet as clappers and "he's won more than you" chants, maximum cringe!

Yeah thats a problem with our crowd in general, no energy or passion like other clubs when they sing their anthem. A good idea would be to play the instrumental version song and have the crowd sing the lyrics, rather than relying on the song to carry the vocals. That would create a better atmosphere.

When comparing and contrasting these two videos, my point becomes a bit clearer.

...taken out of context, the end of the song does work, especially if you repeat "..the whole smiles with you" at the end!!!

I have never been a fan of this version, it is totally unsuitable for the occasion, but the section played at the end works.

Everyone grow the **** up either sing it or **** off home and end it with the  Leicester the Leicester the way it supposed to be. I feel like some clowns would prefer I'm a Barbie girl before kick off. To many mutes is why it sounds shit. Thanks, now I'm waiting for my ban from Mike Dean.

Sorry to disappoint you but that's the actual song over the tannoy and not an instrumental version.

It is, but what I'm saying is that you can clearly hear the fans triumph over the song's audio. Whereas when it comes to us, WYS' song audio is a lot louder than the fans.

More of an appropriate anthem for Rodgers and the relegation rats...

Please release me, let me go
For I don't love you anymore
To waste our lives would be a sin
Release me and let me love again

Could only be more perfect were a Zambian choir to sing it on a podium while wearing t-shirts with Daka’s face on.

Totally dependent on where you are in the ground though. Sounds fine here where people actually sing it.

There's also the whole thing of most other clubs with anthems have been singing them before games for decades.

I know our association to this song goes way back, but singing it before a game is still new to most. It's one of those things that needs to be allowed to grow.

The majority of Liverpool fans were born knowing the words to YNWA, and yet I'd bet not even half of matchday Leicester fans know all of the words to WYS.

To be fair the club are totally bought in and know it will take a long while to develop. Those crying in this thread are wasting their breath.

Yep, and it's also good as it's unique to Chelsea.   And Wolves.   And West Brom.   And probably others as well ...

Legend states that, during late nights spent at the Three Cranes pub in Humberstone Gate, older patrons would perform the full Disco Duck routine to show their affection for Leicester City.

Eventually, the younger pub-goers joined in, also taking the ditty with them as coach travel to away games also become more common place in the 1980s.

Before long, it became the ultimate Leicester City tune – whatever your age or background. Ever since, whether it be at home or away, on domestic turf or further afield, Disco Duck has followed the Foxes wherever they go.
