May be on my own but I think this has been a really good addition and means that the stadium is loud at the start of the match even if it usually dies down around most of the stadium. Been really loud this season when they play this

Traditionally it’s just hands in the air but I agree, scarves look better.  I think me and our lad are about the only two in SK1 that hold our scarves up.  He has been taking his “Champions 2013-2014” one in the hope it becomes prophetic.
