Reasons to be cheerful

I don't need to list the great players we are going to witness playing in a Leicester shirt this season. Many are concerned that they'll all be flogged off down the line, and they're probably right too. I intend to stay in the now and enjoy every second while we have players on contracts like Youri Tielemans and Ricardo Pereira, because by the time we take huge fees for them, there's a good chance we'll have unearthed the next under-priced gem and we can fall in love with the team once again.

What a time to be a Leicester fan it has been and continues to be. Harry is going, it would seem - big deal (in more ways than one) - but we'll deal with it and evolve. If @LinekersApples is right, we may well have new exciting blood to help us all forget this very quickly.

So I guess this is another optimistic bus type thread - I know what it is to look ahead in gloom, so i'm going to enjoy the sunshine now.

Thanks Peaky. I can't shake a bit of the gloom around Harry going. I know most clubs have to sell their best players if a, frankly ridiculous, bid comes in. I guess I was just hoping this amazing squad could have one season intact with one another.

But I have a feeling, at worst, we will be one of the most attractive teams to watch this season, and that's reason enough to be cheerful, isn't it?

It was inevitable Harry was going to go, but not on their terms ours, we have done well to get 80m. I hope we reinvest that money plus whatever else we have, in buying a Top quality winger. Because this side is screaming out for one, Albrighton is good but he isn’t that level where he can score goals and make assists.

Barnes young prospect needs time at this level, will be better this season but not at that level. And Demarai Gray we know his limitations and his occasional quality. We have to bring in someone.

Quite possibly, but I don't think you've quite bought in to the essence of this thread.

Some of you will remember the Ozzie Ardiles Spurs side from the 90's with their 'famous five' of Kilnsman, Sherringham, Anderton, Barmby & Dumitrescu.

I know the positions are slightly different but in Vardy, Perez, Maddison, Ricardo and Youri, I feel like we've got something equally as exciting.

I think we’ve got a decent squad for the season ahead and hoping for a couple of last minute high quality additions...

GK - Schmeichel, Ward, Jakupovic

CB - Evans, Soyuncu, Benkovic, Morgan, ?new player

WB - Chilwell, Pereira, Justin, Fuchs

Utility Defender - Amartey

DM - Ndidi, Choudhury

CM - Tielemans, Maddison, ?New Player

Wing/Wide Forward - Perez, Albrighton, Barnes, Gray, ?New player

Striker - Vardy, Iheanacho

And this doesn’t take into account players on the fringes (or just need to go!) like Ghezzal, Mendy, Silva, Slimani, Kaputska and Elder, or youth players who could make an impact like Leshabela. I’m sure there’s others I’ve forgotten too...

He's gone and he was a brilliant player, and the epitome of a modern centre back ..   but the reason I'm not going to be too down about it Peaky is not  because we have a raft of talent at the club, but because I think we will find a brilliant replacement ...  whether that is someone that we get in and flourishes, or someone like Caglar who steadily improves and develops into a real gem.

And don't mention bloody Apples ...  that boy doesn't even know whether or not a deadline has passed !! ....    :D

If I remember correctly and please correct me if I’m wrong, but that Spurs team as good as they were going forward they were equally horrific at the back and never actually won anything.

As a neutral they were exciting to watch, as I hope we will be, however, with Ndidi/ Choudhury and our back four, even without Maguire, we are actually in a much better place than that team.
