The ideal outcome of signing Demiral is that he gets Cags back to his best, he signs a new contract and we have the centre of defence sorted. However, it they go all Turkey at the Euros it's going to be a massive balls up.

This would be a good signing but it will cost us. They just brought him for 16m pounds / 20m euros. You would imagine they will want a tidy profit to sell. Probably between 30 and 35m. Can't see us spending anything above 20m on a CB given out current position needing other positions covered also.

If Perez leaves and when Fofana is announced we should have the wages to cover both positions. Need Top to agree most of the Fofana money can be spent.

Giving Brendan that money to spend is basically condemning us to the Championship for the next 10 years.

Looked absolutely horrific at the Euros. He's an aggressive defender who likes to come out for blocks, seemed quite error prone and low-iq.

If we pair him up with Evans it could work, but I don't think he works in a 2 with Cags. You need a calm mind back there with both of them.

Is this the same Turkish central defence that got ripped apart in every game at the euros and haven’t been the same since it happened

Was going to say, that’s accounting for Cag’s having a mental breakdown every 5 mins. He’s a solid defender.

I thought the same but it’s kinda of forgot in two parts, he was superb in qualification for Turkey where they beat us some good sides and he’s back playing very well for Sassuolo

The removal of Congerton suggests the money will not be spent by Brendan or his man.  Not (as has been pointed out a few hundred times) that Brendan would have ever had anything more than a say in transfers historically.

If we don't do something urgently about a creaking Evans and a woeful Amartey then the Championship may become a reality.  Rodgers may well be gone in a few weeks or months, we don't want his successor stuck with our current CB options surely?

We need 2 CBs Evans won't play every game. The problem is do we stick or twist.

Do we leave Brendan in place to sort out the mess he created and spend more money backing him.

Or do we change him now and let the new Manger spend the money.

I just hope if we are signing players, Brendan has nothing to do with picking them. He hast got a clue when it comes to signings.

He signed Vesty, Bertrand and Perez. And remember Borini for Liverpool.

With the figures being thrown about it looks like Demiral on his own costs about the same a Lacroix and Szalai together.

What would you rather? Wages excluded.
