If the price is right who knows

Why would the price be right. Why on earth would Juventus sell a good, young centreback with ACL and Meniscus tears for like €10 million euros. And why would we buy for like €40 million when he's that injured.

Those would probably be "fair" prices in each club's minds.

There are elements of a medical that can be undertaken but pointless

the reality is that you can’t buy a player who has just undergone major surgery because of insurance.

you can tell the agent that the injury makes no difference to your stance that you want him at the club for the beginning of next season - that you aren’t looking at anyone else permanently, make him feel wanted at a really bad time for him and hope it works for you at a later date.

you could even try and negotiate a deal with juve .....

but it’s all words for the time being .......and actions always speak louder than words

Posted before we knew the extent of his injury for a start! Secondly we signed Maddison whilst he was still recovering from a knee injury! My point still stands that people seem so desperate to sign someone, they’d seemingly be happy with us spending £40m on a player who (we now know for certain) isn’t going to be able to play for potentially a year!

Juve said 6 months which means hell be ready for next season... many players have returned to the same form after ACL (unless they rushed it) so i dont see a problem with buying him. People acting like hell play on 1 leg...

a team doesn't have to give a medical to a player or they can accept the findings of a medical. A player doesn't have to be 100% fit to change clubs. But surely you knew that and were just being facetious.

you have to find an insurer willing to underwrite the players contract and value  .... all players are insured

if we wanted to sign this fella now, it would be a v inflated premium but we could probably more than offset that cost with juve over the fee ....... if they were interested in selling

Actually they’ll struggle to get insurance on a player with no medical documentation proving he is fit and able to play.

but my point is simple- no one who has just torn their ACL will be put through a medical as there’s no  100 % guarentee  it can be recovered from.

Think we signed Madders whilst he had an ACL.

he was back in training after his injury if i’m not mistaken... besides, i don’t think it was an ACL as he didn’t require surgery- just a few weeks out.

http://sportwitness.co.uk/leicester-can-attempt-lunge-signing-player-already-given-approval-pl-move/

Late on Friday, RMC Sport stated Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with Leicester City to sign Wesley Fofana.

A few hours before this report surfaced, we carried a claim from TuttoMercatoWeb, who said Brendan Rodgers has Merih Demiral in mind to replace the Frenchman.

It was also stated Leicester will need a great offer to take the defender from Atalanta. TMW’s claim is backed up by other outlets in Italy.

Quotidiano has a short update on the Turkey international, who is on the Foxes’ radar. It’s said the Premier League side could ‘attempt a lunge’ to sign him if Fofana were to leave the King Power Stadium.

Leicester’s interest in the former Juventus man is also discussed by La Repubblica. They state the 24-year-old is identified as the ‘heir’ to Fofana.

With the Frenchman’s imminent move to Chelsea for in excess of €80m, Rodgers’ side have probed the Atalanta centre-back. Demiral, for his part, has ‘already given his approval’ to make a switch to the Premier League.

It’s now down to Leicester to find an agreement with Atalanta, if they want to carry out the Serie A defender’s signing.

This is why Brendan Rodgers can’t be trusted with money……

Any player we are after will have been subjected to scrutiny by a large group of departments and individuals, I'd imagine by the time Rodgers has any say there's a whole host of people you can praise or blame depending on the outcome. He certainly wouldn't have much input into transfer fees or contract lengths.

Even more so after last summer’s sh*tshow with Bertrand and Vestergaard.

I’m sure he’ll be saying Daka and Soumare haven’t worked out brilliantly either yet but there’s lots of potential with both players and higher sale price if they left.
