st albans fox Posted 14 January 2020 Share Posted 14 January 2020 There are elements of a medical that can be undertaken but pointless the reality is that you can’t buy a player who has just undergone major surgery because of insurance. you can tell the agent that the injury makes no difference to your stance that you want him at the club for the beginning of next season - that you aren’t looking at anyone else permanently, make him feel wanted at a really bad time for him and hope it works for you at a later date. you could even try and negotiate a deal with juve ..... but it’s all words for the time being .......and actions always speak louder than words 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Posted before we knew the extent of his injury for a start! Secondly we signed Maddison whilst he was still recovering from a knee injury! My point still stands that people seem so desperate to sign someone, they’d seemingly be happy with us spending £40m on a player who (we now know for certain) isn’t going to be able to play for potentially a year! Juve said 6 months which means hell be ready for next season... many players have returned to the same form after ACL (unless they rushed it) so i dont see a problem with buying him. Actually they’ll struggle to get insurance on a player with no medical documentation proving he is fit and able to play. but my point is simple- no one who has just torn their ACL will be put through a medical as there’s no 100 % guarentee it can be recovered from. I’m sure he’ll be saying Daka and Soumare haven’t worked out brilliantly either yet but there’s lots of potential with both players and higher sale price if they left.
